About
Acquario di Livorno: a sea of discoveries! The Aquarium of Livorno, located on the Livorno seafront inside the Terrazza Mascagni, enjoys a privileged position with a strong emotional and scenographic impact and offers the public a visit itinerary which extends over two floors for a total exhibition area of approximately 3,000 m2. New for 2019: many new marine animals, a tank dedicated to kelp with its submerged forests, a new octopus tank, new edutainment activities for visitors including entertainment for children, guided tours and speeches along the way to deepen their knowledge of the sea . On the ground floor 34 exhibition tanks, the green turtles "Ari" and "Cuba", Napoleon fish, zebra sharks, seahorses, jellyfish and much more. On the first floor, a reptile house with leaf-cutting ants, chameleons, iguanas, arrow frogs and many other specimens.

It’s hard to believe that a tourist attraction can be so unaware and oblivious to the restrictions required to operate and ensure customer safety in these times.
The queue to enter was a warning sign of what was to follow with people crammed into a small area. It was raining so this just exacerbated the problem. We spoke to a member of staff who then decided to try and organise the mess in front of her but only after we had complained.
She fast tracked us to enter the aquarium but unfortunately things were no better inside. No staff to ensure necessary distancing or assistance.
100 metres in we decided to turn around and head to the nearest exit.
If you are at all concerned or aware of COVID-19 you should avoid this place.

We visited the Aquarium yesterday and had a great time! We took the train from Pisa to Livorno Centrale and then took the LAM Blu bus to the Terrazza Mascagni stop. When you get off the bus, just walk forward and you’ll see the Aquarium in front of you. The bus ticket cost €2.50. The journey itself was nice and easy and we did this with our 1 year old son.

Lovely Aquarium but a bit disappointing with the size of it. We stayed for about an hour and had a brilliant time. Definitely recommend a visit if you’re thinking of it.

It is a great setting at the waterfront. As any other aquarium around the world, it is a bit pricey but there is a lot to see and great fun for kids. Certainly worth the visit

Good place to spend a couple of hours with the kids when it’s raining. I found the other comments saying it’s small unfair. There are plenty of small tanks a 4 massive tanks with lots of different fishes and sea creatures. Everything is explained in english. The the biggest tanks there are massive turtles and sharks! Then upstairs there is an amazing exhibition on ants and a panoramic terrasse to have a look at the town. On critique though: i thought 17euros per adult and 11euros per kid (between 1.4m and 1m high) was quite pricey...

We went to escape the heat instead of the rain. It's just big enough but the price is a bit high. On the second floor there are some lizards and frogs they are nice to watch and throughout the floor you can track ants that's a very nice feature!

The aquarium is simple by most standards. Definitely some interesting fish and the sea turtles were absolutely worth it. If it had been 10 euro a person, I would have thought it was worth the money, but at 14 - it is a bit overpriced.
Also is quite small so only killed an hour.

It is a nice place for walk with kids along water and end up in aquarium. Vast variety of fish and great for small kids to run around. There is even a part with different reptiles and ants and so on.
Suggest it of you are in Livorno with kids.
Friendly staffs and helpful costumer services.

We visited the aquarium with our two young sons as it was one of the only indoor age-apporpatie activities in Tuscany! Our elder son (2.5) really enjoyed the aquarium, especially the giant turtles. There was also a creepy-crawlie exhibition upstairs. It is a good size, but not massive; perfect for our son. Our sons were both free, so it was 14euros each for the adults, so a reasonable price for a few hours.

The Livorno Acquarium is such nice attraction if you re in Tuscany with your children and especially if you have a raining day to spend.
It is not that big and for this is even easier for kids enjoy it.
The open pool let kids to see the fishes and even to touch the ray fishes.
On the first floor you can visit the reptile section which is nice too.
The cost is 14 € per adult.
Children under 1 m tall are free of charge.
