Lady Madonna of the 12 Stars

A must see in Lucca. Visit Her in daytime and at night. Unlike most Italian Madonnas, her robes don't fall to the ground, they billow northward in the Mediterranean breezes. Look carefully to see what her left foot is standing on….

In the widening where Via dei Fossi crosses other streets stands this column with a baroque statue of the Madonna on top. They say it is the first statue dedicated to the immaculate conception made in Italy. It is certainly a point of reference and important for the local population

Beautiful marble statue that stands on a column placed at the intersection of two streets and with Piazza San Francesco in the background. Stand out the drapery and the crown of stars as well as the trampled fair.

Madonna dello Stellare one of the many beautiful monuments that can be found in Lucca. The view is spectacular, as it is throughout Lucca, as you turn you find a monument, a church, an ancient sign to admire. Lucca is a jewel city, one of a kind!
