wnet here on one of the last sites we visited before going to the puccini museum, and I am a church fan based on the beauty of some of these old buildings, and this didnt dissapoint either, it even had a mumified body in here , which I will leave for you keen site explorers to find out why and... More

history of lucca you would never know unless you visit this church what a fantastic place you can a in may st. vida festival that alone is a treat not to miss just a lot of history just a great time to be in lucca with all the flowers in bloom the mosaic is on the front is just great!

Very cool church in Lucca. As you make your way around Lucca you may as well take time to stop here. The mosaic on the front is top notch.

Amazing this wonderful facade of this basilica, an ancient roman church with many nice mosaics in gold and other magnifiques colours, a real show up, genial; I saw it only from outside;

With origins back to the Irish Bishop of Lucca (Frediano) this church was the headquarters of a community of Augustinian canons. St. Frediano himself is buried under the altar. Expanded in both the 12th and 13th centuries the church took on its current appearance as an early Roman basilica. There is a magnificent baptismal font from the 12 th century.... More

A small piazza at the top end of Lucca. Dominated by the fantastic church, which is well worth a visit. Nice selection of cafes and bars in this area_ something for everyone.

If you would like to see something really unique you must not miss visiting this wonderful church; an old basilica that has still the private chapels of the rich aristocratic families of Lucca from XIV till XIX all decorated with masterpieces from Jacopo della Quercia to Amico Aspertini, to Bartatta, Masseo Civitali. Not to forget an annunciation of Della Robbia... More

We attended Mass here and it was very tranquil It is a beautiful church with old frescos on the pillars also very spirtitual and peaceful. Would highly reccommend visit.

Very impressive mosaic and quite an interesting story including the removal of the Virgin Mary for a window..this was part of a tour well worth seeing.
