Although the inside is very grandiose it wasn't all that fun to see inside, I'm not a religious man so there was no sort of emotional connection for me and we were in and out in 5 minutes. The building is very impressive from the outside though and worth a look

Went there as part of Pisa visit. It is more beautiful from outside then inside. Not many tourists, so we got our free entrance tickets for within the same hour.

You have to purchase either one, two or three monument tickets in order to get into any of the buildings. We purchased the one monument which got us into Camposanto plus the Cathedral. Cannot get into the Cathedral without purchasing a monument ticket. Cathedral has “The Pulpit” by Giovanni Pisano carved between 1302 & 1310, which is very interesting. Working... More

The cathedral is a beautiful building and although didn't go inside, nice to walk around it. Have to prebook tickets if want to visit inside,as queues are long.

It stands proudly in the contained gardens that it shares with the famous Leaning Tower and The Battistero, I hadn't realised that before we went, I though theDuomo and Battistero were seperate from the Tower. Anyway, the three accompany each other beautifully, stunning

The exterior of the cathedral is quite stunning and there are many beautiful details of mosaics, statuary and carvings. The interior is worth a visit for the gold ceiling. Beyond that the altar is surrounded by interesting frescoes. Sadly the dome was not visible due to ongoing construction.

Ticket for Pisa gives you entrance here too and well worth a look - the photos elsewhere speak more than I can write here, so I'll stick with the one piece of advice being to keep to the dress code, which here means covering your shoulders before you enter. My partner didn't (it was scorching hot outside in August when... More

Impressive in his huge mass of white stone and marble, both the inside and outside show the works of cleaning the dirty parts of the monument. Don't lose the Giovanni Pisano pulpit inside.
