Thus us right next to the leaning tower of Pisa. In comparison it's a tiny non event. Also you can't get anywhere near this statue which is disappointing

A statue of a wolf suckling Romulus and Remus on a tall pedestal will be found close to the Leaning Tower. Why is a monument to the founding of Rome here, no one seems able to explain. Impressive statue, two minutes to view, then move...More

A replica of the mythical she-wolf suckling the twins, Romulus and Remus, from the legend of the founding of Rome, what is it doing in Pisa? It is erected in the lawn area of the Piazza dei Miracoli, photo from a distance as you must...More

One of many Lupa statues sprinkled around Italy. The she wolf, Romulus and Remus sit atop a column in Piazza dei Miracoli. This symbol is more closely associated with the founding of Rome than anything to do with Pisa.

Great place to spend a warm afternoon. You can lounge on the grass and laugh at the tourists taking perspective pictures of themselves holding up the Leaning Tower.

I associate this statue with the city of Rome and the story of Romulus and Remus . There is nothing on site to explain its relevance to Pisa

The Capitoline Wolf suckling the twins Romulus and Remus is a symbol of Rome. This one is a copy from 1936. The original wolf, dating from the 11th/12th century, with the twins added in the late 15th century, is in the Musei Capitolini in Rome....More

Another interesting point of interest during our visit in the Pisa Tower complex. The statue of the goddess Lupa nourishing Remus and Romulus represent the myth going back over two thousand years ago about the founding fathers of Rome. The statue is not remarkable in...More

This tall column with the bronze statue of a she-wolf suckling the twins, Romulus and Remus who are attributed to founding Rome, is often over looked by all the attention given to the Leaning Tower. So the story goes the grandfather of the new born...More
