We attempted to walk around the walls of San Gimignano and managed to walk part the way but found the way barred at one point so could not continue. Still we managed to see a lot.

San Gimignano is a real tourist reserve. The numder of residents now is twice less than in the late middle Ages. Tourists like such castles of Sleeping beauty. Including the fact that the wall remained fully intact. Fans of the genre can even get around...More

For as long as these walls have been standing, they have been maintained and preserved very well over the centuries. Beautiful and imposing, I am not sure and attacker would have relished the thought of having to breach them in their day. You see the...More

While you are wandering the streets of San Gimignano you can't fail to notice the city walls, they are well preserved and worth your time to walk around all or just parts of them.
