I love ceramics and always buy them as gifts or for myself when traveling. I visited this shop in October during my 6-day Tuscany walk based on TA reviews. The shop is smaller than I imagined but full of beautiful things. I was afraid of knocking things over as there was not much space to move around. The owner/gentleman was... More

I stumbled into this shop which is near the duomo. The hand painted pottery is unique and very lovely. I bought two tiles depicting the contrades. The owners daughter was engaging and happy to answer questions.

We were looking for a piece of pottery and found this wonderful shop. Sonia was most helpful and accomodating. Her father was painting a vase she had made while we were there. The colors, workmanship and variety of her merchandise make it a must stop while visitng Siena!

We stopped in to admire the colorful plates, bowls, pitchers and tiles that adorn the walls of Bianco e Nero and had wonderful conversation with Sonia, whose English is far better than her comments suggest. As I write this I am looking at the several pieces with Tuscan landscapes that we keep in our kitchen. (They travelled quite well in... More

The owner of the shop made me custom dishes. They came out beautiful. They ship all over the world. I looked everywhere for good quality dishes and this was the best around.

I first found Sonia and her father in 2000 on one of my first trips to Siena. I LOVED the Palio plates they create and had to have some. I finally bought 8 dinner plates in 2009 on my 4th visit to Siena and use them on special occasions. My friends and family just love them This year I planned... More

Bianco e Nero is one of those shops that instantly makes you feel good. The tiny ceramic shop around the corner from the Duomo di Siena, is a floor-to-ceiling explosion of color featuring beautiful, hand-painted designs of the contrade of the Palio di Siena on a head-spinning selection of plates, bowls, pitchers, platters, mugs and everything in between! It could... More
