My kids, who pretend to be allergic to culture, tolerated this quite well. It’s nice to see the singers up close and personal, without the trappings of makeup and costuming. My 10 and 12 year old qualified for a reduced rate, too, which was nice....More

A very pleasant way to spend an evening in Siena. Excellent singing in a very relaxing environment. Only slightly marred by the slightly less than perfect acoustics.

The night that we attended the performance was a mini concert by a soprano who has a great warm rich voice. And also a very talented accompanist. The performance included some well known selections from popular operas. The pianist performed two solo pieces that showcased...More

We thoroughly enjoyed our night at the Italian Opera in Siena. Maria Salvini the soprano and Ilaria Posarelli accompanying her on piano were an excellent combination.

We went for a performance on July 6th if memory does not fail me. I have lost the program but there was a very good mezzozoprano and pianist and they did a wonderful job. Well worth getting some culture on the touristic trail.

Our holiday company booked tickets for us, we had reserved seats on the second row from the front. There were three fairly young children sitting on the front row. I didn't think they would enjoy it at that age. How wrong I was. They were...More

We got a cab into Siena. You can drive but it’s not an easy city to park in. We picked up our tickets then found a restaurant for supper. At 9pm we strolled back to the venue. The Soprano and pianist were warmly welcomed and...More

My 'poor' review only applies to the acoustics of the venue (old church). We were glad we went and would recommend you go even if you're not avid opera fans(we're not). The song selection was very good and I took the list home so I...More
