If you bought a combination ticket and you have a mode of transportation and it is a nic day, then go to Leonardo's birthplace. The winding road that takes you up to his home is surrounded by beautiful hills with vineyards. This would be a great place to bring a picnic lunch. The house is small and they have a... More

Spent an hour here as part of our tour. It was the end of a long day so was probably too tired to appreciate it much. However the location is stunning and we were there to see the sun set which was nice. There were a few local market stalls selling produce in the car parking area.

Whilst the house has little in it apart from a video on Leonardo's life, the house is set in a marvellous location surrounded by wonderful views of the surrounding hills and valleys. One can understand how such a child from a lowly background might be inspired to do great things! Well worth a visit after going to the main museum... More

Close to Vinci town. If you have a car or bike you may as well go since you can get a combo ticket from the Museum. I wouldn't book with a tour company or some other 100 Euro guzzling shark especially to go. Restored house with miniscule glimpses of old wooden chattels exposed from the restoration plaster and so on.... More

This is part of the Da Vinci Museum complex and can be entered on the Combo ticket, €11,00 for an adult. You can also purchase a stand alone ticket for this site but I would not recommend it since it is only worthwhile as part of the complete museum tour. The site is comprised of two building. The first is... More

We booked a private local tour guide. She brought us on our first stop to Leonardo's Birthplace. The landmark/site is comprised of a couple small and antiquated buildings sitting atop a hill. Inside the rustic exterior, visitors are welcome to learn through fun, interactive technology. You have to see the Verrocchio painting inside the house. According to our guide, Verrocchio... More

This farm house looks as though it must have always looked even in the time of Leonardo de Vinci. It has fabulous views as well

In a week I was able to visit all major ancient monuments in Italy. But among them all the most important for me is the House where Leonardo da Vinci was born. It is greater than Coliseum. It is taller than the Tower of Pisa. It is never sinking like Venice. My daughter drove me there from Prato. The road... More
