Truly a beautiful place, to see how the Poor Clare’s lived and spread the word of God. If visiting stay for vespers you will not regret it

It is not an easy walk from the center of the city. But it is well worth it. A quiet church and cloister where Saint Francis first received his from Christ to rebuild the church.

The San Damiano Cross that spoke to St Francis is no longer at this location but here is the place where the Founder of the Franciscan Order was asked to repair his Church. St. Francis initially took it as a physical rebuilding of this church....More

Conveniently located just below the town of Assisi, this is worth a stop. It is very peaceful and serene. 30 minutes and your through. Some people find this a very moving and religious visit. Quite a contrast to the town above. I was very disappointed...More

After so much spend our the peace and simplicity of this place is outstanding. Do walk from the town it is part of the charm and don't miss the statue if St Francis gazing across the fields.

Walking through the small and unadorned chapel and dining room where Saint Clare prayed and ate touched me. Standing outside and seeing the views of the beautiful valley with so many olives trees was peaceful.

Free, donations welcome. Just put location into sat Nav and turn up Opening hours through Google. Opens around 10 generally. I went solo and there is multi language guides printed as you enter.
