Assisi is a magical place and the Basilica Inferiore is where you can feel all the energy of this place. A great chapel with beautiful paintings and a hanging cross, as if Jesus was flying in Heaven.

The Giotto and 'Giottesque' frescoes form an important part of the history of art. One should allow enough time for the upper and lower basilica. A good pictorial guide book illustrating the individual frescoes is a necessity in order to appreciate their importance. Walking round...More
