We rented an apartment in Perugia just steps away from this beautiful piazza. Very active with good cafes and historic buildings surrounding the medieval fountain, which didn't look like much during the day, but was beautifully lit at night. Felt very safe here.

A fantastic piazza surrounded by buildings hundreds of years old giving a glimpse of the past. Always a hive of activity, it is a great place to just sit.

Beautiful area with museums around. Everything is close by and it is not difficult to walk. We saw a lot of museums near by.

If you go to the centro, the magnet of the Piazza IV Novembre will bring you home to its center. It is truly the meeting place, the center of worship, the heart of the history of Perugia and Umbria, the nerve center of the government. You cannot go to Perugia without spending some very enjoyable time in and around this... More

The place to sit, to see, and to be seen in Perugia's old town. This is a university town, and so you'll see not only hordes of tour groups, but local students hurrying to and fro to and from classes. Lots of nearby gelaterias, cafes, restaurants, and clothes shops, as well as jewelers at tables.

Perugia holds a place in my heart. I studied there 24 years ago and many memories from Piazza IV! Great restaurants all around as well!

One of the best parts of my time in Perugia was hanging out in the historic piazza on the steps of the Cathedral. You never knew what to expect - and relaxing with you friends and a cup of gelato is a great way to spend an afternoon.

Read up on the scenes carved in the fountain, representing the seasons and activities in Renaissence Italy. Good way to get kids interested in history and life in times gone by.
