Located on the main street of the old Perugia this museum is a feast for the eyes if you are interested in this kind of art. An impressive show of sculpture and paintings . The museum is located in a antique building but totally redone inside and shows like a very modern and organized presentation. The number of artwork is... More

The museum is housed in a venerable building well refurbished with good lighting and well-spaced works of art. Some are medieval sculptures taken for the sake of preservation from older monuments such as the grand fountain which now has copies of the originals. Others are individual works of art, the masterworks of the region. There are admirable medieval paintings and... More

If you don't want religion don't go. But the collection is pretty amazing and includes many pieces from 500-600 years ago in excellent condition. Larger museum than you think. Free on first Sundays (usually).

This was a fantastic museum. It has a lot of religious art and is well known in Perugia. Parking is not easy in Perugia

Set right on the main piazza in Perugia this museum is in an impressive and beautiful building. The entrance is a little strange as in it is dark inside with a few flags and other city symbols displayed; tickets are bought in an enclosed, modern glass box thing at the back. They will not allow to take any bags etc... More

A nice little museum with quite a bit to see. The most impressive part of the collection is the reproduction of the tombs found in Monteluce. This is extremely well done -- it looks pretty real and the collection of urns and sarcophagi is impressive.

40 rooms full of religious art - amazing for the first 20 or so, but it became a bit overwhelming in the end. Some wonderful sculpture in marble and wood, with lots of medieval religious paintings and icons. It's well worth visiting, but there's far too much to take in at one time.

An amazing palace, and an amazing art collection -- elevators easily accessed. After you've seen this place, Perugia's secular art museum, walk a few steps down the street to see the Cathedral and its museum.

Even if you have visited numerous other great museums (like the Louvre, the Uffici, the Swinger etc) this museum remains a real gem. The collection is mainly medieval and renaissance. What makes the museum particularly good is the presentation which is really exceptional. Every work of art has been exhibited with great care. There is also a lot of space... More

This sympathetically converted palazzo is not only a beautiful building but houses a stunning collection of renaissance art, which is unmissable if you're a fan & worthwhile even if not. The small entry fee is justified simply by the exquisite Piero della Francesca triptych which is a star exhibit & utterly breathtaking.
