I was in Switzerland a few months, and mostly in the Basel region. It was often that I walked past the Munster, each time, entranced with its architecture. The first time I saw it, I couldnt believe its size, the size of its main doors...More

I traveled to Basel by myself as a side trip before I studied in Germany. The Basler Münster and the city are absolutely gorgeous. However, when I attempted to enter the Münster I was told by the personnel that I would not be allowed inside,...More

Our favourite thing to do in Basel. Beautiful views on multiple levels up the towers, and to see the detail of the building. Costs 5 CHF per adult. Went on Saturday, closes at 4pm, but we noticed they closed admission from about 3.30. Highly recommended!

The cathedral is up the hill, but worth the trek to visit the inside, including the cloister! The view from the back is worth it as well.

What a beautiful sprawling church. My goal is to climb the stairs and look over the city through the bell tower. But not today, because not only did they crush my spirits but they reminded me I was single ;-) It is some strange liability...More

We had a wonderful visit to the Basel Munster. I was especially awed by the views from the top of the towers of the cathedral. However, you cannot to up to the top alone due to safety considerations. In other words, visitors must go up...More

Very spiritual and peaceful place. Nice architecture, I'd say Gothic. The whole area around the Cathedral is worth visiting.

Lovely little church to pop in and look up. We did not know there was a plot from higher up that we could have climbed up to otherwise we would have as we understand the views were very nice from there.

We went for a long walk on our last night in Basel, and found our way to this place. Of course we didn't get to see the inside, but the view of the river made up for it. Truly spectacular.

Yes, its 2 SFR pp. But sometimes they only let a minimum of 4 people go up. Why? Haven't a clue.

Yes, it is free to tour, I didn't climb the tower, but the church and grounds are free.
