Markthalle Basel is a great place to enjoy cuisines from all over the world. It is located at a walking distance from the SBB station. It reminds me of the Pantheon in Rome, given its Dome structure and a great Hall under it. It is big and has a separate play area (though not too big) for the kids. It also has a great slide for the kids and their parents. The collection of global foods and flavours is really great. There is open seating. There are many options for Vegetarians and Vegans too. Excellent Ice cream place, Wine, desserts. Every week multiple social events like Farmer markets, local produce and delicacies, Flea markets, performances etc take place. Great place to catch up in small or large groups, to spend an evening with kids or just trying out the great food. Prices across the stalls are reasonable. …

Super! A lot of restaurants, shops and other places. Wonderful places if you are looking for ethnic food.

The food options are endless and the food itself was terrific! If you have a little layover where you have to switch trains at Basel SBB and have about an hour, this is the best place to eat.
