If you're scared of heights then going to the top of this cathedral definitely isn't for you. We are normally ok with being up high, but there is something about an old building which challenged us mentally. The views were amazing, and it was a gorgeous example of this kind of architecture - well worth the CHF 5 to get... More

This church has a very unique architectural design. It is a must see when in Bern. Beside the church is a park overlooking the senic riverside.

The main doors of the cathedral are very ornate and well worth approaching. The platform behind/south of the cathedral also offers wonderful views and could be easily missed, go and seek it out!

There was scaffolding up when I went, so no great pictures of the cathedral, but then I went up the stairs. What a view! You must be okay with a LOT of stairs but the view is worth it! There are a few places to stop on the way up and each stop provides another cool spot to take a... More

While we were able to get a good view of the entrance door from the outside, unfortunately major renovation works inside meant that much was hidden by scaffolding. It is a little disappointing that no photos are allowed inside; not sure why ?

The Cathedral is a must see in Bern. The inside of the church is less impressive than those unused to protestant churches might expect. But reformation in the middle ages got rid of most of the Catholic splendor. Nevertheless it is am impressive Cathedral not least because of its tower that can be climbed. Don't miss it! It's quite an... More

From the platform you can enjoy the view to the river Aare with the Schwellenmätteli and down to the small City district Matte. Down there you have spoken Matten - Gib mer e Ligu Lem - Give me a piece of bread. On the tower sweeps your views over the city and the Alps.

I try to take time to go into churches as much as I can, you never know what you might find. The entrance is indeed a souvenir shop, but with a helpful lady who pointed out the nearby loos to me, and also recommended a good place for a coffee, both desperately needed. Inside it is quite plain, but do... More

It has a lot of details. Exterior and interior. Worth going in. Beautiful stained glass. Remember to check out the opening hours.
