We visited the gardens as part of our tour of Bern with our group.
It is a beautiful garden that sits on top of the hill high over the city. You get excellent photo opportunities of the city and the beautiful gardens and water features. And there is a park bench with an Einstein statue that gives you the opportunity to be photographed with the genius.
Wish that we had a bit longer to walk the gardens, but we very much enjoyed the time that we had.

After a long hike from the city center to the top of the hill, this rose garden is lovely but a bit underwhelming. A fountain gurgles while some rose bushes bloom. Benches are well shaded by towering trees. A busy cafe sits at the edge of the park.

But the garden is simply not on the scale of others around Europe. There aren’t nearly enough flowers and the park isn’t very large compared to many. It’s also grueling walk from the city during the hot summers in Switzerland.

However, the sweeping views of Bern and the Aare River are completely worth the effort! It’s the highlight of the rose garden and will allow for great vacation pictures to be taken! Also, walking down the hill from the garden at its southern exit will lead directly to the bear pit, one of the most popular points of interest in Bern.

A small cute garden with wonderful flowers and lots of Magniolia trees. it also has a fountain that looks historical. The view of Bern old town from the Rosengarten is truly magnificiant. We had dinner in the Rosengarten restaurant while enjoying the view. The next morning, we bought breakfast and came to eat on the bench in the garden and enjoy the view.

We were there in March and no roses to see and with Covid the cafe was only serving takeaways.

I’m not a big flower lover but don’t worry about that just walk up here for the best view of Bern old town.

5 mins above the Bear Park up a pretty steep hill so don’t wear the high heel shoes.

It’s looks amazing during the summer but for us it was no roses and lots of snow so not ideal

We took the tram up to the park. Saw lots of children playing on nice park equipment. There was a free concert going on, dancing, and picnicking. The views back toward old town are amazing!

I visited in the dead of winter and still a trip up to Rosegarten was worth it. I walked down past the Bear Park and up into the Rosegarten for the view. There is only one place to take it the old tow of Bern. Go up here first and get your bearings, take some photos and maybe grab a coffee at the cafe. Then as you face the city, walk left down the long, long ramp to the river and explore old town. Don't let the fact that it's cold deter you from getting this perspective.

As the time of setting sun approached we strolled along the ascending path. Panoramic vistas over the cityscape were delightful.

Passing by the monument to famous Albert it was wonderful to see the myriad of autumnal colours.

The Rosengarten has a beautiful view of Bern. The gardens are a little underwhelming, pretty, but nothing spectacular. There is also a restaurant at the top, which was good, again, nothing amazing. It's a nice place to go on a beautiful day, but not a must see in Bern.

The Rosengarten is delightful. Many varieties of wonderfully scented roses. Lovely water feature with lily pads and nice views of river and old town.

This garden is a lovely place to visit. Not just for the garden itself that is really nice but specially for the views over the city.
Here you can see the city and the river and all the mountains surrounding the area. One of the best places for taking pictures and resting for awhile before continuing the visit to the city.
Be aware this garden is on the top of one hill. You have to walk a lot from the river level to the entrance and the hill is really steep. But once in the garden you can refresh yourself in the fountain or have a cup of coffee in the cafe.
