Lovely views of city over the river Aare and we saw the Bears

We loved the city views of Bern from the Bear Park and fortunately for us as we were there early in the morning the Bears were active too.

The barenpark is a MASSIVE upgrade from its "hole-in-the-ground" predecessor! It's an absolutely gorgeous three tiered enclosure with lots of greenery for the bears and high visibility for us humans! It's clear that these wonderful animals are very well looked after by the numerous signs written by the keepers about each of the bears' individual personalities, names, and habits. I... More

This free bear zoo in the middle of the city is just an awesome deal; HOWEVER, the BEARS are sleeping right now so don't expect that for now. The views of Bern are very nice from here. I would definitely visit here if it was Summer, Spring or Fall.

It's a lovely little spot in the old town of Bern. It's kind of fun and amusing to see these bears. There is a little beer brewery for fresh beer located just behind the bear park. You have to try it out. Really good beer and very picturesque scenery.

Dropped by barenpark, hoping to see the bears, but was told they are sleeping and would only come out in February! But the area have a scenic view, at least it was not a very wasted trip!

Written on the notice board: the bears are sleeping. We went at around 2 o'clock. No bear coukd be seen. Only wooden bear sculptures for photo taking and kid bear area for visit ( no real bear, too). But the surrounding environment is so nice and picturesque, you could see the medieval town surrounding by the lake, birds and swans... More

Unfortunately we were here in late November after the bears had been moved to their winter hibernation spot so there is little to see at the Bear Park. You can walk down to one of the bear pits and see a visual display of the history of the bears in Berne but that's about it.

Bern - the city of bears Comparatively less famous than cities like Zurich or Geneva, Bern however is the capital of Switzerland. Historical and beautiful city with a Bärengarten where you can see bears. Fun fact: Originally a family of four, a bear was transferred elsewhere due to its continuous conflict with its mother.
