We walked from Biel to the zoo through the gorges and the view was absolutely stunning. A very cool and refreshing activity in the midst of summer. Absolute must-see attraction if you’re in the region. We came by car, parked at the tierpark zoo, free parking, and went through the tierpark to arrive at stairs (100 or so) that take you down to the Taubenloch gorges. I had read that this walk was accessible with a pram. My wife did the research on this walk from Biel and convinced me to do it, given that it was two to three hours, and was to be through the vineyards. We ended up on the vanicular to the top and commenced our walk in the forest. The vineyards didn’t eventuate till the end but what an amazing journey we had. Forest trails, green grassy fields, cows, goats & squirrels. But the best was the last 40 -50 minutes through the Twannbachschlucht section. Limestone gorges, waterfalls & rocky outcrops. Fantastic day ended with a boat ride back to Biel. …
