Overview
More
CERN, in Geneva, is the world’s largest particle physics research centre. CERN has recently brought into service the world’s most powerful accelerator, the LHC (Large Hadron Collider), which will provide new insights into the Universe and how it evolved. The entire Universe is made up of particles. But where do they come from? What laws govern their behaviour? The purpose of the "Universe of particles" exhibition is for visitors to confront the great questions of contemporary physics : a journey to the Big Bang.

We were so excited for our school group to actually get a reservation here, but it was not NEARLY what we had anticipated. The first part of the presentation included sitting in a tiny conference room where our presenter was a highly intelligent and energetic...More

The work and history of CERN is clearly explained if you are fortunate enough to manage a tour of the facility. You’ll need to book in advance. Even if you’re not a scientist it’s a fascinating tour which will bring you up to speed on...More

You should book in advance in order to have a chance to get in. The building looks impressive, it is located just by French border. It is easy to access by tram from anywhere in Geneva.

I was on the website at the exact moment tours were opened up for the date and time we planned on being in Geneva. I guess I missed a space in my phone number and in the matter of 5 seconds, I lost the space...More

Whenever in Geneva, my visit to CERN is a must. Never disappoints and it's fascinating. A must visit for anyone in Geneva. Number 18 tram will take you straight there from main train station.

Unfortunately we were not able to get the guided tour because we did not book early enough. If you go online you can see that they have a slot for 11 to 1 p.m. or 1 to 3 p.m. It is well worth a trip...More

My brother and I booked a tour of this for our trip to Geneva. It was a fantastic experience. We were guided around the campus by a particle physicist who explained a bit about the history and the workings of the machines. We saw the...More

I wish everyone could visit CERN and see human intelligence and cooperation at work with a mission of exploration rather than exploitation and destruction. The exhibits are terrific but our guide was off the charts: able to explain particle physics, the experiments, and the questions...More

CERN! Loved the visit, interactive and insightful. Wish we had a chance for an in depth guided tour, however those have to be planned in advance with clearance.

There are a few items you can use for free however to do the guided tour you need to book. Don’t be too alarmed if you can’t book initially as I found persistence pays off and just keep checking as I only managed to get... More
