Attended the Opera "DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE" by W.A. Mozart and with Pretty Yunde as Pamina on New Year's eve and it was a marvellous experience. If you are either hungry or thirsty, just make sure you head straight for the bar during the interlude as wait can be very long.

I have been fortunate enough to attend operas here. When the diplomatic community is invited, a band is positioned outside. They play as guests walk up the steps. It is a pretty cool experience. The building facing the park with the Reformation Wall has a grand facade. The interiors outside of the theater proper are grand too with heavily decorated... More

it's a very nice, old theater but the seats are so uncomfortable. I've learned that it will be renovated very soon -next season maybe. I've watched the Fidelio, and realized that I missed classical opera productions so much. It had a very good staging, showing all the facilities and abilities of the stage. I hope it will acquire better facilities... More

The theatre is across the road from Bastions Park, and looks beautiful from the outside. Tickets are expensive and hard to get too so plan early!

A classical theatre, if you are there, do not miss seeing. But the prices are high, consistent with the cost of living in Geneva.

I went to watch a russian opera or something of a weird gender... not bad but it was hard to get the whole thing while you hear russian monologues, listen to classical music and try to read the monologue in french. The theater is great though... great acoustic and details. Try to buy in advance. Prices may go from 60CHF... More

Close to Parc des Bastions, large theatre with very good acoustic qualities. The Season program is very good with some remarkable performers. The Orchestre de ls Suisse Romande, with many talented musicians provides the music.

If you are in Geneva mid September it's the beginning of the season and you might find a performance at your taste, opera, concert. Expensiive but good value for money.
