The lake and surroundings are very clean, nice wooden bridge that was not having any flowers since it is winter but it was simply beautiful to just be there. Place is peaceful with lots of birds, nice traditional mansions and luxurious shops.

Lake Lucerne is beautiful. We were lucky enough to spend two nights there and the weather was perfect, cold but clear. We spent a fair amount of the time enjoying the view and watching all the boat traffic. Besides the numerous ferries, there are many private boats and rowing shells on the lake. The view across the lake to Mt.... More

Beautiful lake and harbor, surrounded by old traditional mansions and fancy shops and restaurants by the water. Take the boat ride in the daytime for some beautiful views.

Took a cruise on the lake on the way to the lift for Mt. Stanserhorn. Beautiful views, well worth a visit.

A visit to Lucerne will not be complete without board the boat to cruise Lucerne lake. It's a beautiful lake. The boat will have many stops, and we could explore some areas around Lucerne. The cruise is free for Swiss travel pass holder.

Beautiful views & charming outdoor cafes & people watching. A great walk especially in a sunny day! We left the Lucern train station & walked across the lake & turned right on way to covered bridge. However, we stayed in the old town side & meandered by the pubs, cafes & shops getting a feel for the lovely city &... More

It was cold, but blankets were available. Years ago I have been on this 1 hr cruise around the lake, but it seems the scenes are just as interesting, although mountain sides are bare of foliage and farm animals. Very short queues. Tickets were bought on board.

Lake Lucerne has so many faces and offers plenty of variety, due to its funky shape. Best explored on one of the old steamboats. Fabulous views from Bürgenstock. Make sure to walk the path to the vertical elevator to take in the view.

The lake is very serene and overall the cruise experience is awesome. Experienced a scenic 1-hr cruise on the lake which is a great way to see the lake. Just loved the breathtaking scenery and the quaint attitude of the place. A must visit all in all.

Very nice lake. Several boat tours available to various spots in the Alps. Lake tours are right outside the very nice train station. You can get a direct train from Zurich airport and it takes about an hour.
