Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This area used to be very nice with lots of nice shops selling clocks and watches. Now the shops are still there but it is very overcrowded with Tour buses bringing in hundreds of Chinese Tourists everyday to buy genuine Swiss watches. The Tourists are everywhere blocking the footpaths taking selfies in addition to the undoubted nice views. Unfortunately a lot of Tourists try to block off the pavement to take their photos. This is extremely annoying so I always take a bus from the station now to avoid this unpleasant tourist area. Toilets in Switzerland are usually the cleanest and most hygienic in the world but not round this area due to the sheer volume and unpleasant habits of many Tourists. Avoid Schwanenplatz if you can there are lots of lovely areas in Luzern to see!

This square is one of the main entrance points into the old city of Lucerne. Due to the impressive old buildings which are well maintained tourists are all around taking pictures.

I'm confused - not sure why this is a tourist attraction. It's like any of the other platz in Lucerne where it's basically a cross road of a few roads coming together and a few regular shops. It's very busy with coaches as they use it as the drop off and pick up point for tourists.
You'll walk through it if you follow the self guided walking trail of Old Town Lucerne, however it's nothing special.

this is a major shopping place for tourists visiting lucerne.it is situated on the right shore of lake lucerne.there are numerous shops here, cafes, restaurants ,etc.among these are the shops of 'bucherer' and the 'gubelin' watchmakers.they are very famous for swiss watches n mostly high end watches.a rolex watch factory is also present in this area.other shops around sell local swiss handicrafts, some shops sell souvenirs, swiss army knives-victorinox,chocolates,jewellery etc.there are some other local cltohing brands too n some street shopping too.its a major tourist hot spot n so very crowded.one can spend a couple of hours here,if not shopping, atleast window shopping.a must visit while in lucerne.most people atleast end up buying choclates, souvenirs like cow bells n swiss knives.keep a few hrs for this place n u wont be disappointed!

Nice place to just go window shopping. There are some nice shops you can spend some time seeing. Nice place to take a walk in the evening.

This is a nice area to walk through. If you get a chance you can stop by Max's Chocolates for the BEST chocolate you will ever have. Cafe Deville was also a charming cafe that locals frequent. Bauchman's also has a wall of melted chocolate.

Schwanenplatz is the main market area of Lucerne. You can shop for watches, chocolates and all souveneirs as well as swiss knives. You will get high end items here as well. being opposite to the lake Lucerne, you can take in the scenery as well and just sit back and relax.

Nothing much there but the view of swans and Chapel bridge which is famous for Luzern. There's a lot of restaurants there as well.

This is a small square just across the main Seebrucke. It's the gateway to old town Lucern with many shops, bars, souvenir stalls and shopping facilities - all of them on the more expensive side.

All the electric buses to Meggen, Ebikon, etc stop here. Treat yourself and head upstairs to have a coffee or lunch on the open terrace at Cafe De'Ville.
