The drive up to the parking area is most interesting with wonderful Swiss mountain views at every turn. There is a large parking area at the end of the driveable road, with a variety of walking paths pointed out. We chose one that took us directly to the crater edge and then walked along the crater before returning to our... More

Was a very quick visit just before the sunset. Short easy walk from car park so not to much of an issue for people who struggle to walk far. Very windy and cold be careful not be blown over the edge wind is very strong.

This is a wonderful place to visit. You can get there several ways, for us the easiest way was to put into the gps the address of the restaurant Le Soliat. There is parking also about 2 k's from there which you will pass if the restaurant parking lot is full and you wish to walk. Not only will you... More

Trick: download View Tracker app on IOS/Android then download the walking trail to Creux du Van this will help you a lot. The way to go up is medium-hard, but OK for young kids (8-9 yrs old). You could take 8 km trail (4 hrs) or 13 km (8 hrs)full trail. Once you are at the highest point, you'll know... More

Amazing and breath taking place. Worthing to spent some time there and walk all around, seeing this beautiful landscape and hearing the bells of the cows.

A very nice place to go to and enjoy mother nature. You can drive to the restaurant Soliat nearby and park there (big enough for even coach busses). A small walk of approx 500m through a cow field to the edge from here to enjoy this spectacular view. Don't worry about any cow encounters as it looks like they only... More

Well worth the trip, the drive takes a short while, as you enjoy the lovely farms and countryside, not forgetting spectacular views. Good car parking. There is a farm and restaurant by car parking area. Few minutes walk up to the top. As someone has previously said, if taking children keep them close by, as it's a dangerous but amazing drop... The drive up is long and not always well indicated, the hike from parking lot isn't far and quite easy, just head towards the stone wall in the distance but then... prepare yourself to be gobsmacked - the view is amazing! Keep young children close as there's no security and the fall can only be fatal.

We were in August 2016. Family with children. The elder son - 23 years old, the youngest daughter of 10 years old. This is an amazing place. It will appeal to all without exception. And it deserves to come here again. The route is best to start with small town Noiraigue. If you walk, the length of the route to... More

Amazing place- The visit is to be done in Summer- 1) I recommend the lazy way to do it. It consists of going to Travers by car, and then to take the road till the "ferme du Soliat." This is a restaurant perched at approximately 4.200 feet. Then the walk to the Canyon is approximately half a mile. The circular... More
