This is the second time that we have done the trip from Chur to Brig in winter (last time in 2003). The whole journey from St. Moritz to Zermatt takes about 8 hours so it is we think better to do it in stages The train is known as the slowest express. It goes over passes where the snow is... More

We caught the train from Chur to Celerina (near St. Moritz) en route from Zurich for a skiing holiday. It was an amazing ride as the train spirals up the Alps. The views are stunning especially near the Albula Tunnel. There are maps on the tables which are very helpful. If you only want snacks on the trip, it's probably... More

We took the Glacier express from Zermatt to St Moritz in Sep 2008. We had a 8 day swiss rail pass and hence had to just pay the supplement charge( which is the seat reservation). In 2008 we paid an additional CHF 30.00 as the supplement charge and for food you need to pay additional amount. The journey in itself... More

I've done this trip East-West in summer, and West-East in winter betwen Zermatt and St Moritz. Fantastic scenery all day. Very comfortable train with panoramic high windows. I'd suggest breaking it into two sections, Zermatt-Chur, and Chur-St Moritz, as it is a very long day going Zermatt / St Moritz. I'd suggest two nights in each of Zermatt (Matterhorn, Gornergrat)... What to wright about one of the most famous, fascinated and beautiful train trip I ever did. We were going on a Monday in January when there was a lot of snow. Started at Zermatt and ended in St. Moritz takes approximately 8 hours. There are four parts during this trip that are so beautiful I had the feeling that... More

Truely an amazing expierence . The sights are absolutely out of the world. If you can, get first class and get the 3 course lunch as you will get hungry on this 8 hour trip . Also bring sunglasses, especially in the winter as the trip gets very bright. You will seem like you are constantly getting de delayed by... More

28/12/2016, Zermatt to Chur, 2nd class coach 24 seat 52. The train journey was a great one although it is long(5.5 hours). I can see beautiful scenery on the whole way and took a lot of photos. The service is good and meals are delicious, and the audio system allowed me to know more about the scenery. Highly recommended for... More

I was a little nervous about the trek up and down in the train since my ears can bother me a lot if I'm getting sick, but I had no problems and the views were spectacular! We were done in Zermatt a little sooner than we thought and the ticket guy let us get onto an earlier train with no... More

I'm so glad we did this. The views are just amazing. The train is well organized. You must have a reservation. We took this trip the first week of January and very few people were on the train, so we had the bank of four seats to ourselves in 2nd class. That wasn't the amazing part, however. It was scenery.... More

This was one of the highlights of our visit to Switzerland . 8 hour train ride may seem a bit longer, but it has lot to offer in terms of changing scenery, panoramic views and good food. We did the Zermatt - St Moritz route. Really loved it. If you have the time and enjoy a good train ride, this... More
