Chur to Brig in style

We did thus trip partly to experience the Glacier Express and the fact that the normal train would require changes to get to Brig from Chur. The train itself is nice, there was... read more

Truely an amazing expierence . The sights are absolutely out of the world. If you can, get first class and get the 3 course lunch as you will get hungry on this 8 hour trip . Also bring sunglasses, especially in the winter as the trip gets very bright. You will seem like you are constantly getting de delayed by... More

28/12/2016, Zermatt to Chur, 2nd class coach 24 seat 52. The train journey was a great one although it is long(5.5 hours). I can see beautiful scenery on the whole way and took a lot of photos. The service is good and meals are delicious, and the audio system allowed me to know more about the scenery. Highly recommended for... More

I was a little nervous about the trek up and down in the train since my ears can bother me a lot if I'm getting sick, but I had no problems and the views were spectacular! We were done in Zermatt a little sooner than we thought and the ticket guy let us get onto an earlier train with no... More

I'm so glad we did this. The views are just amazing. The train is well organized. You must have a reservation. We took this trip the first week of January and very few people were on the train, so we had the bank of four seats to ourselves in 2nd class. That wasn't the amazing part, however. It was scenery.... More

This was one of the highlights of our visit to Switzerland . 8 hour train ride may seem a bit longer, but it has lot to offer in terms of changing scenery, panoramic views and good food. We did the Zermatt - St Moritz route. Really loved it. If you have the time and enjoy a good train ride, this... More

On the plus.. we ride from Chur to Zermatt.. it was amazing.. the scenery was really quite special .. we went first class and felt like we were well looked after.. things to be mindful of .. it was hot in the carriage and with the panorama roof the sun was hot.. take good sunnies and a light layer.. we... We did thus trip partly to experience the Glacier Express and the fact that the normal train would require changes to get to Brig from Chur. The train itself is nice, there was spaces for bags and a rail with hangers for your jackets. The train passes thorough some beautiful landscapes. This year has been a particularly warm winter so... Having said that it was a pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and worked hard sadly it was a very bright sunny day which did make taking any decent photographs difficult. Watch the cost of water here, two small bottle were around £10,in fact the water was more expensive than Beer....odd world we live in.

We took the Glacier Express from Chur to Zermatt. A long journey, a little under 6 hours. The train has large Panaromic windows on each side of the coach and glass skylights. This ensured that we could take in the view from all sides and look up at the peaks even while seated. Also great to take unobstructed pictures !!... More

We have taken the Glacier Express many times over the past 30 years - started taking it when it only ran in summer because the Furka tunnel was not yet built. In those days because it had to climb basically over the Furka pass on the old line you could see the Rhône glacier from it...hence its name. These days... More
