We regularly take cruises on Lake Thun and Lake Brienz when in Switzerland. We like first class because less busy in high season. Scenery is beautiful on both lakes. Boats are comfortable and catering is varied and worth sampling!

Either by the MS Brienz or the Lotschberg paddle steamer, lovely to sail across the lake for an hour and come back!

Hello helonophile20 Thanks for your comment. Besides the boats on Lake Brienz, we have some on Lake Thun as well (including the paddle Steamer Blümlisalp). We hope you will find the time to explore them next time when you are in the area. Best wishes Andreas More

The Lake Brienz boat tour was really nice. We had heard Lake Brienz was more local-oriented, while Lake Thun was more tourist-oriented, so we opted for Lake Brienz. There was a lot of German spoken on the boat, although I also heard French and English. There were still a lot of tourists. It was a nice way to spend 1.5... More

Hello SFBayTravelSensei Thanks for your comment. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your trip on Lake Brienz. Our passengers are mixed tourists as well as local people like travel with us. Lake Thun is more open and gives views to castles and manors and Lake Brienz is a typical mountain lake with its pale blue colour - both... More

We wanted to go by boat to Thun and back but the sailings from Spiez near where we were staying didn't go at a convenient time so we decided to do a round trip. We drove to the station and used the park and ride car park which cost 5CHF which we thought very reasonable . We got train tickets... More

Right in front of SBB Thun train station you can easily notice a "Willkommen in Thun" sign, where is the Tourist office belonged to. From there you could buy the ship ticket and the harbour is about 5 meters walk to the right. If you already had the Tages Karte/ Swiss Pass/ Daily Train Ticket then you would not need... More

One should not expect too much from these little river trips. The people on board are rather rural and in advanced years. ergo, so is the Gastronomic standard on Board. You get Chips with everything, including the plate of chips you ordered. Watered down Coffee is no problem as it is served up with a slight air of excitement as... More

We take BLS boats twice, it is the best way for exploring Lake Thun. The better choice is morning first boat to Interlaken. The time is fit the SBB train connection. It takes about 3 Mins walk from SBB Thun station. Swiss Travel Pass can be used Free of Charge.

We intended to take a round trip from Interlaken to Thun, stopping at one or more of those charming little villages on the shores of Lake Thun, so we bought two daily passes, good for travel on both lakes. Yeah, right..... In October, the schedule is too sparse, particularly if you start from Interlaken, to do much more than stay... More

This boat does a circle tour stopping at little towns on lake Thun. We got on at neuhaus, rode 2 stops, then disembarked and got on a boat going the other direction and rode 2 stops back. Total time was a magical hour and was 20 euro per person.
