I go here often, whenever there is a new exhibition

What I especially like in this museum is the variety of exhibitions, related to living in and history of the region.

A wonderfully interesting museum . Booklets given to us in English . Outstanding value . A real glimpse into the history of the area back to pre-history . Some lovely art .

loved the basement full of amazing archeological finds, the upper floors were a bit confusing and some of the specimens looked like they were picked from a modern garbage can! But overall, the museum is great, if a bit long, and the visitors can interact quite a lot with the objects. the building is also amazing as well as the... More

This museum is worth at least an hour. I was here for over two. It is extensive over 5 floors, telling the story of Gisors

My wife and I spent a day and night in Chur in order to catch the earliest Bernina Express panoramic train. During the day we dropped in on this museum. The lady that sold us the tickets did not speak English and we don't speak German, and she was aware of that. We paid €24, and when we went into... More

Displays illustrate the history of Chur and the surrounding areas. A large variety of exhibits from arhaeological finds including the stone age to the 19th century. Very well done and very interesting. They have books in English for each floor 1) Finds & Findings; (2) Work & Bread; (3) Politics & Power;(4) Belief & Knowledge. Very reasonable admission price of... More

A very enjoyable museum, filled with a variety of items. Everyone should find something of interest here. There artifacts, jewelry, and tools from, and dioramas of ancients Rhaetian culture. A number of very nice medieval artworks, tools, a reliquary, and even a full military costume and implements. On the more modern end, a buggy, a turn-of-the-century train seat, and even... More

The museum is not very big. Has 4 floors with different time periods starting with stone age up to now time. Currently it has a special exhibition on local coins that also shows a interesting video on the history and how to mint coins (until I believe September) I love for kids they provide a set of keys and each... We were looking forward to learn something about the Rheatian part of Switzerland, but were dissapointed. Almost everything is in German, there are translated books but there is a lot of text to read on. Practically we learned nothing new, fortunatelly the entrance was in Swiss pass else it would be a waste of money

It was snowing outside, and the museum was a warm dry haven. The lady on reception did not speak English, but she gave us the English guidebooks, so that was OK. Some history is universal (Roman occupation, sitting in the stocks, farm implements etc) but we struggled with not knowing Swiss history. We were absolutely fascinated by the black and... More
