This is the best snapshot of how medieval life in a castle was.....draw bridges, a small chapel, and midieval toilets! Walk the ramparts for great views. This castle requires extensive walking up steep inclines on uneven footing, and lots of stairs. Even if you take...More

This is the 'middle' castle. It is worth the walk / climb to get up here. The view over the city and the larger castle below are very nice. You can walk the grounds for free but they charge to walk the walls and to...More

As advertised: one of the best pieces of preserved mideval fortifications. Paid part (museum) interesting to have an overview of Bellinzona through the eras of history. Buying a ticket makes sense, if you visit the paid part of all 3 castles for a single-ticket price.

In terms of altitude this is the middle castle. It also offers the best Battlement walk of the three. The museum is third rate in terms of collection and even worse in conveying information. There are lots of outdoor photo opportunities of the castle below...More

13th century keep and 15th century palace. Crenellated walls. You can walk around the ramparts and grounds for free. Museum in the keep charges admission. We didn't go in. Beautiful views from the ramparts and grounds.

The Views over the city is amazing. You can explore about the complete caste and the entry fee is really worth the price for preserving this UNESCO site.

It is a steep walk up to Castello di Montebello. The view is awesome and you can have a full view of Castelgrande from here. Later, realized that there is a bus that stops right at the other side of the Castello di Montebello (where...More

This is one of three castles in Bellinzona -- you can pay one time and see all three, and you can even walk from this one to Castel Grande, if you want (bit of a climb to come back up -- we drove). Each have...More
