If you are visiting Lugano, this place should be at the top of your list. It offers an amazing view of Lugano. Additionally, it has a open restaurant with excellent views and it within the swiss price average. Additionally, I would recommend to check the weather forecast before going, make sure the sky will be clear to enjoy the views.

We took the funicular to the peak and walked around to see the view of Lake Lugano, the Alps, and the town. It's so pretty and soothing to be up there looking down. Definitely must see!

We took the tram to the top, and at 25 Euro per person, I found that to be a bit much. There is no doubt that the views at the top are absolutely beautiful. You can see for miles and miles and miles. There are 2 restaurants at the top, but I did not eat at them as I was... More

Nice ride with funicular and breathtaking views from the top. Short walks, a little playground and a scenic outdoor and indoor restaurant are available. Overall very nice if it wasn't for the high price of the ride (75 euro for family of 4 return tickets)

Great to drive then walk to top (15 min walk up from small town at top) stairs and path very doable. Great restaurant "ristorante & sala eventi" bed and breakfast too (4 rooms-did not see) it looks old on outside but fresh and new inside. Great food. Great service.

LOvely drive up to the mountain. You can take a funicular but you can also drive up and its a beautiful drive. Amazing view of Lugano from up the mountain.

This is definitely worth going to for the views over Lake Lugano. You can actually drive to the panoramic restaurant at the top from which the best views are afforded, albeit the food and drink is expensive there. If driving, be aware the road to the top is very narrow and has a number of hair pin bends.

A panoramic place that can be reached by cart (€50 for 2 persons). From a long excursion can start towards mont Boglia.

Our travel companions were new to funiculars, so they were extremely excited to make the ride up Monte Bre. It didn't disappoint, beautiful views from the funicular alone, and it's a very interesting ride for those who have not experienced such a thing before. There are two places to eat at the top, a formal restaurant that's a bit of... More

We decided to go to the top of Monte Bre because so many people said to ride the funicular to the top and then hike back down "the well-marked" trails. Having hiked a lot in Switzerland, where trails are usually well marked, I assumed that would be the case at Mt. Bre. Big mistake. First of all the funicilar is... More
