I was disappointed how I was treated by one of the 2 women here on February 24, 2024 at 17:00. She was the older and larger blonde woman. I had just arrived with questions on how to buy tickets for the cable car and train. I was met with flippant remarks about the weather and 'how could I be so sure the cable car would be runnin and be such a weather expert', for example, in a smart-alecky tone and simply told to download the app from the QR code in front of her. I noticed other travelers from other countries that she provided brochures to and sold tickets to. Flummoxed, I got in the other line with the thinner and younger blonde woman who was nice enough, but didn't offer to sell me any tickets and provide anything of substance. Just as well, as I could not have done it any better than I did on my own once I left the train station and had time to figure out the best plan of action to make the most of my short time here. I found most of the tourist offices helpful in Switzerland, but something was definitely off with this one and have absolutely no idea what their raison d'etre is. Zermatt was a great stop for a couple nights, but one of the few places on my trip in Switzerland where I encountered uncalled for arrogance such as here with the older tourist office woman, some hotel maids, and the snotty young kids from some of the European travelers that were not properly being watched by their parents on the cog train, etc.

It is absolutely unacceptable to hear all day noise from helicopter and also an enourmous amount of trucks on the road leading to dust and noisy. Zermatt has definitely lost a lot of its charm and is victim to gigantisme with regards to more cable cars and building construction activity between Zermatt and Furri. What a pitty !!!

Thank you very much for your feedback. We regret that your stay did not meet your expectations. Unfortunately, Zermatt also needs some time to optimise its infrastructure so that visitors will continue to find a high-quality offer in the future. By the way, the Zermatt - Furi cable car is a replacement for the old cable car. Despite the circumstances, we hope to see you again in Zermatt.

This tourist office is well located just next to the train station and providing you with good info and maps about Zermatt. They will staff checked the current weather and live cameras to see if the peaks do not bath in the clouds.

Trains were proving a challenge for us during our inter Rail holiday so we called in here. We left not only with a clearer picture of what we needed to do but also with good information about the town itself and a town map.

It is an interesting office in itself with lots of good information and the staff are very helpful.

They speak perfect English which makes things easy and really do try to help you out.

I am a simple tourist like you, and I look on the Internet for feedback on where I will go. I am writing and I want to warn everyone that money is being stolen in this city. My family and I just tried to visit one of the peaks near the city. We went there by cable car. We entered the big carriage, but the operator said that now everything is closed from above. We just wanted to take a walk and eat in a cafe, but he said that this was not necessary. We got out of the car and tried to find out at the box office how to return the cost of tickets to us. I repeat - we have not gone anywhere. At the checkout we were sent to the company office down to the city. In the office I tried to explain for half an hour that we did not use the services of the company and did not go anywhere, because an employee of their company told us so. The young employee refused to return us, did not want to listen to the explanation. She did not give her name and did not give the opportunity to contact her management for an explanation. I asked if she understood that it was a theft of money? Does she understand that tourists can find out about this fact? You will not believe what this employee told me. She told me that nobody cares, and we will not get the money. She did not want to deal with our problem at all and demanded that we leave. You understand that they don't give a damn about us! And state-owned companies steal money here. No need to come to this city

tourist office is very hit-miss. Some are helpful others very short and borderline unhelpful. TripAdvisor and google fair superior in our opinion.

We reached Zermatt on 20 May 2019 and went to tourist information centre first thing in the morning. It was a gloomy day and there was nothing much we could do. We made enquiry to a female service staff (didn’t get her name) on alternative activities and if any scenic trekking route, but she just passed us the leaflet and simply asked us to refer to the leaflet for the trekking route without even making any effort to explain which trekking path maybe a more scenic/ popular spot even we prompted her a few times. We gave up on her and sought help from our hotel staff who managed to give us more useful and informative advise. We had a wonderful day despite the gloomy weather. Having said that, we were very disappointed with the service provided by this particular staff. The service encounter we received at Interlaken Tourist Information Centre was more much pleasant and reliable. Hope the Zermatt Tourist Information Centre will investigate on this feedback and make the improvement on the particular staff. Otherwise, it would be detrimental to tourism industry in Switzerland. Thank you!

A very touristy place so good to have a Tourist office near the train station to help them; they need it.
Postcards & the usual tat is available to buy.
A lot of older Swiss have complained to me about the Tourists in Zermatt, especially Chinese. This is very nasty & short sighted considering that SR was a very poor country not so long ago; the Tourists, with their dollars would have been welcomed then I suppose.
Anyway, blame your Tourist minister for the promotion- Miserable xenophobes!

Purchased tickets online for the Glacier Paradise ride from Zermatt. No tickets arrived before our holiday despite their confirmation stating they would. No tickets on arrival in Zermatt at the cable car station (a seperate organisation from the tourist office - note) Had to pay another £164 to ride it. Zermatt Tourismus stated on 27 May that a refund was in process - even providing an email receipt - yet nothing at all by today 4th June despite several emails to them chasing it up
Having to now use the Visa Chargeback method to obtain the refund and Radio Silence from ZT.....

As we have already confirmed to you by mail, the amount will be refunded. Due to a change in the terminals it took longer this time. Please be patient. Thank you for your understanding
