The skiing was fantastic but what we found frustrating was there were no maps on the top of the lifts to figure out where you are going what was also annoying was every time we wanted to find where we are going everyone we asked who worked there was saying download the app. Sure that worked but our phone were... The restaurant has had a recent complete overhaul and is now a beautiful authentic Italian with attention to detail and fresh ingredients. Our party of 6 was well looked after by a friendly waiter who had a handful of comical Geordie phrases. It is perfectly possible( if a little expensive) to reach this epic spot without skis using 3 lifts... More

from below it seemed to be a rocky, rough mountain without snow, but the somehow "hidden" skitrack down was wide enough, prepared well, and the track simply spectacular, even passing on the rim of an old glacier moraine!

Rothorn has some excellent ski runs and is served by a very large cable car that runs all day. It can get rather busy due to its popularity.

Start your journey at zermatt where you take a funicular through a mountain (tunnelled), you then can take small cable cars or a chair lift to Blauherd where you take a larger cable car to Rothorn. You get good views of The Matterhorn and "friends" at any of these stops. There is a cafe in Sunnegga, Blauherd and Rothorn be... More

ROthorn waas a good view but nothing speciwl if you re there to ski. On our way down, the cable car driver advised to stop off at Blauherd and take a 2.2 km trek to Fluhalp, going past a frozen lake. It took us just under an hour at a very leisurely pace, taking photos of the Matterhorn. Lovely lunch... More

The Gandola ride takes you right to the footsteps of another stunning peak in Zermatt with 2 stopovers which provides you excellent view of the mountain ranges and peaks. At the top there are various options including a bar. This is a must do activity if you are planning to visit Zermatt

It was just a part of a bigger tour, but worth some effort to hike there. Nice views to numerous summits, not so many tourists and can perfectly serve as a cozy place for a picnic. But if you are looking for just one summit to visit in Zermatt, go to Gornergrat - it's much more touristic and crowded, but... More

The Rothorn has a good 360 degree panorama, but we only stayed there for 15 minutes as there wasn't a lot to do at the top. If you have purchased a Travel Pass, it is worth going for the views, but at CHF67 for the return trip to Zermatt it is not really worth it.

The place still looks under construction with lots of wooden logs lying there. Matterhorn's view is good from here. Point of Paragliding as well.
