This is a great place to start your ski vacation in Zermatt. This funicular, it may be more, allows you to access all areas of Zermatt, Switzerland and Italy side. Our hotel was steps from this funicular, and we loved using it as a starting point to our skiing day

I kept on going up and down this beautiful slope. Here you can pass by the great Chez Vrony for delicious bites or findlerhof or have warm wine 🍷 at the bar while skiing and listen to great music 🎶 and continue skiing even with a bit of relaxed body. But hey who said that you can't drink and ski.... More

Good alternative if you want a good view of the Matterhorn and find the Gornergrad too expensive, also not as busy.

This is a great photo spot for the Matterhorn and has a play area for kids as well as a restaurant, worth a visit.

Quickest way to Sunnegga is via the Funicular. A long tunnel to walk through to begin with but you're quickly up the mountain within 5 minutes or so and ready to start skiing! (or walking/hiking in the summer). Fabulous views of the Matterhorn from Sunnegga.

The best way to get to the slopes. Bit of a walk along the tunnel but speedy funicular to the mountain. Suspect that it is a good way to start any walk in the summer

Very handy to have this so you don't have to walk in ski boots all the way up or take a taxi!! A lot of standing around and waiting for it to go!!

The best way to get to 2000-2100m from Zermatt to the first mountain. It goes from 1400m to 2000 my very fast and it is spectacular.

This Furnicular is exciting. Go for around 5 minutes inside of a tunnel and reach Sunnega on the top. The view is great and the ski is great for any level. We have used the Wolly Park and the blue slope. The ticket is 24 Swiss francs and is good for going up and down. If you want to ski... More

Fast and reliable, this is a great train service to the slopes above Zermatt - wish they had more seats however, the is only two cars with seats... not great when travelling with older people.
