Nice views as the train winds through the forest from Zermatt to Gornergrat. If you don't want to make a lot of stops there are a few trains throughout the day that go non-stop from Zermatt to Gornergrat. Not 5 stars because if you don't have a ski pass (which lets you on the train) it's quite pricey to ride... More

Was fun to see the views the scenery was amazing for photos and there was shopping at the top and telescopes to view the scenery (for 1 frank) dress warmly as the wind was heavy and was -13 (when we went)

This is the easiest way to see the Matterhorn from a relatively close distance. Just hop on board across from the train station in Zermatt for a scenic ride up. No transfers necessary. Best to sit on the right side of the train going up. If possible, return when it is not crowded and you can move around the train... More

Unfortunately there was only one day we could do this trip on our holiday and it was totally clouded over. I can imagine how beautiful this would be with a clear sky. There's a lovely cafe right at the top so we had a hot chocolate and looked out to the white sky but it was still nice trip. If... More

it is worth to take this train up and up and even higher up the rocky mountains. We used it to ski, the ski area of Zermatt is probably the best in Switzerland?

We took the Gornergrat Bhan all the way to the top!! Gorgeous alp views - simply breath taking! We enjoyed a great meal at the restaurant on the top. You can use the bhan also to access ski runs and sled runs! Must visit !

Paid about 150 CHF for two adults. Our kids 7 and 4 rode for free. The train ride up was absolutely wonderful. The views are spectacular. There's just and observatory and a few shops up there and a restaurant and cafe. Great place to buy a Swiss Army Knife and they'll engrave it for you on the spot for free.

A very efficient cog railway that runs to the top of the Gornergrat at over 10,000ft. You can stop off at any of the intermediate stations such as Rifelalp and Rifelberg. Definitely recommended on a sunny day.
