We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I drove from the Glarus Sud end and across towards Altdorf. Stunning views on a beautiful clear day. And easy drive with not much traffic on a Tuesday 3rd week of August.
There are plenty of stopping places for rest and for photography . And the Swiss cowbell orchestra was playing!

Three guys on three motorcycles , no traffic and the Klausen pass. I couldnt be any better. So fun driving and so beautiful. The best pass in the alps so far. I really liked it. Not that safe on top, with not very much guardrails to the side.

The below link takes you over the beautiful Klausen Pass in this 10+ minute video. Included in the video is the legend of how the border was set between the Cantons of Uri and Glarus back in 1315. Narrated by James Johnson.

Drivers dream! My husband was in his element, loving the smooth tarmac & hairpins bends, while I was enjoying the stunning view!

This is a road you want to drive when the weather is good and the traffic light. There are sections on the Altdorf side that are narrow ledges with little room for error. In these sections, the curves can be a bit blind, and you feel like you need to slow down and try to peer around them before proceeding lest some young man on a 'crotch rocket' (motorbike) comes flying around the curve. For the person driving, paying attention to the road in front of you takes priority over sightseeing. I consider myself a very experienced driver of mountain roads, but this one is not for someone who is not.

I have not much to say about it. Only to recommend it and to give one tip: get yourself a 4x4 car with at least 200HP and enjoy the ride! Please, please don't make the mistake I made with the Golf 1.4...

Well, dont mean it in a way that you should be careless..!! be very careful, like signs for bikes, Smart Rider and from Hero to Zero!
Anyway very quiet an peaceful pass, no disturbances so you can really enjoy the road, the vies, the climb up or down (depending which way you go) and enjoy your car that you took for this crazy mountain pass journey (much much better than stelvio!!). and if anyone says that roads here are rubbish, tell'em that they're talking rubbish!
Will not be disappointed! the views are just WoW! and a small stop where u can take a funny picture :)) ps and it can be difficult to take a proper picture... cant always stop!! but still, you 'take pictures' with your eyes :))

I'm a lover of being behind the wheel and, particularly, doing so in areas of natural beauty. If you fall into a similar camp, Klausenpass is as close to heaven as you'll be on earth. It's hard to quantify just what an experience this is and pictures don't do it justice. If you have the means and you find yourself in Switzerland, this is a must-see area. Serene winding roads provide incredible vistas, amazing stops for a close hike to a waterfall, or simply taking in the Swiss cow orchestra of bells that transport you to a simpler time.

I suggest going in the summer when roads are clear and the weather will be nice, but avoid busier times if you can. The only thing that ruins heaven is getting stuck behind someone that wants to enjoy the scenery at 5 mph and doesn't realize they should pull over to let drivers through.

Many picture worthy locations along the route to the top of the pass. We traveled only to the summit and back from the Glarus Side. The road has some sharp hairpins, but is almost always 2 reasonable driving lanes and not to be feared. We did not eat at the two restaurants at the summit. The day we visited the section beyond Klausenpass summit was overlaid with a thick layer of cloud although the section we traveled was in clear sunshine. I woul highly recommend making the drive if in the area.

So unlike some of the better known passes this one was totally open and totally deserted!! The best drive of my life. Scenery epic, hairpins epic, snow covered peak epic. Do this pass is you’re in Switzerland
