Visiting this statue takes only a minute in Montreux, youll see it if you meander down the promenade for long enough. Interesting story behind its placement there.

As we walked upon the waterfront route, we came upon this statue. It is was a delightful view to be amongst, especially as the water lies in the background. Absolutely beautiful! If you are ever in these parts, please give it a visit!

I must admit I always though Freddy was a good singer, but it was until I had the chance to visit Montreux and the Memorial and the Qeen Experience that I could fully understand and admire one of the most talented human beings of the latest years. Freddy was not only an incredible singer and composer, but also an excellent... More

The monument is awesome and definitely one of the landmarks of the city. It has breathtaking views from there to the Alps and Lake Geneva.

I Love the city, I love this side walk. A Sunset picture with Freddie Mercury will complete your visit of the city. Who knows ... One day I might be able to live in this wonderful city

We were originally not aware of the Freddie Mercury / Queen / Montreux connection, so we were glad to see the memorial on the edge of the lake. This lead us to the Queen Studio Experience at the Casio, which we would have otherwise missed.

We wanted to make a picture of this statue, but some hyperactive fans left too many signs that ruins the picture, so I left without it. It was not mentioned why the statue is there - would have been nice to know.

Montraux is just lovely. A walk or a cycle aling the lake for miles and miles. In the middle is the impressive statue of Freddy in his iconic pose. The chritsmas market spoiled his stance.

The views down by the statue are breathtaking. Well worth a stroll along regardless of the weather. We went in December so all of the Christmas markets were in full swing and really added to the experience.

Some think this is a random three metre statue to have in Montreux but the fact is that after opening a recording studio here, Freddie realised he loved the place so much that he bought an apartment and lived here for a while. Alongside the beautiful lake, fans gather for pictures and leave flowers for their hero, we took some... More
