We started walking from the zurich central station .. we took a map from the info desk and basically the old city starts at the main station and ends there.. the map will help u find the best route .. it took us 3 hours to finish the whole old city including almost an hour stop in a cafe ..... You will see the richness and serenity/peace in every street and corners. I guess ,it was the most expensive city I have ever visited more than 100. You can see the old and well kept of history. I guess, summer visit to Zurich will be very pleasant .

Lovely architecture with some reasonable shops. Great to just while away the time and stop off for a drink or two

To go to the old town you have to get across a bridge over the Limmat and go for a walk towards the streets, very nice little shops, no cars and stop to a "tea room" to drink a coffee with croissant in the morning or pastries in the afternoon. The houses look wonderfull, just a dream !!!

I think this is probably a lovely old town and it certainly has it's charms, but the day we visited was bitterly cold, so it was not so pleasant to stroll. I did not enjoy wandering around the old town and along the Bahnhofstrasse but I suspect that had more to do with the weather than Zurich itself. I would... More

The old town of Zurich is very rich of beautiful galleries and small shops. You can start walk 0n the right side of the river, if you start from the main police building, walk on the same side opposite the direction to Bahnhofstrasse. It's beautiful and you feel the old town. Walk untill it would be impossible to continue.

It is a very nice walk. Go there, see the many shops and have a beer or wine along the way. But the other side, Bahnhofstrasse, is much more inviting.

Old town of Zurich is rich in history and it's great to walk around this area with shops on both sides of river. It's beautiful in the evening with those yellow lights. Amazing experience of this beautiful city.
