Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were here at the Christmas market in December 2023. Well, the chalets are lovely, but the hustle and bustle and then some people insult you for no reason. Apart from the fact that at the mulled wine stands, some people didn't even speak German or only barely. It's just ridiculous to see something like that at a Swiss Christmas market. Typical left-wing Zurich, no thanks, you won't see us here again anytime soon. Side note: The next day we were at the Christmas market in Lucerne. Much smaller, but more lovely and the whole city is much more beautifully decorated for Christmas.

Bellevue square is the square beside the Sechselautenplatz, is dominated by the tram station and from here begin the bellevue promenade on the lake.
Many reviewers wrote that the Bellevue Square is dominated by Opera House not knowing that the Opera House is in Sechselautenplatz

The Christmas market was in this area. There were so many stalls, but mainly selling food and drink. Set next to the opera house and the lake.

Bellevue Square in Zurich is easily accessible by public transportation. It is quite impressive and located in front of the Opera House. It is a great place for clicking pics. Certainly recommend visiting same.

Bellevue Square opposite the Globus Bellevue is the location of one of the biggest Christmas markets of Zuerich. A wide choice of streetfood is on offer from all places over the world, including of course Swiss. We particularly enjoyed the Peruvian Burgers and the Swiss Sausages. And glad to see the Dutch cheese and poffertjes!

enjoy the Bellevue in Zürich, try a "Bratwurst" at the "Vorderer Sternen", that is what people from Zürich do, after visiting the opera. Then walk accross the "Quai-Brücke", enjoy the view on the lake and walk op the "Bahnhofstrasse" or walk from Bellevue along the lake to the "Zürichhorn".

Don't pay attention to the blind cranks who say it is only a tram stop - it takes you right to Lake Zurich for those who want to see it. It is a great place to walk around - lots of people watching opportunities. It is sort of like a street fair atmosphere. You can also catch a boat to take a tour around the Lake or rent paddle boats and take your own tour. And there is a giant Ferris Wheel from which you can get great views! I think this is a great place to take your kids for a play day.
Of course, as always, there is also good food, shopping, and cafes to stop and have a glass of wine.

Lots to do in the area: chocolate buying, then walk to Sprungli just 1 block south, shopping (tons of shops all around), eating (cheap pizza on the main Bellvue Tram Station island or slightly more expensive susages & Hamburgers in Sternen Grill nearby), historical sights (walk north 3 minutes to the Grosmünster Cathedral). Don't want to walk, then take a tram. Trams going to all over the city stop in Bellvue Station. Most of all, just have fun taking in all the new sights & sounds.

It's a contemporary open space urban environment and that's about it ... you can grab a chair and sit and enjoy the view alone or with a friend. The lake is near by so you can go see it and enjoy the fresh air. The opera house is small but lively and worth to take a look at the facade !

That would be about 700 or so meters walking or you could take a tram.
