This is a lovely well-curated and free museum at the University of Zurich, easily reached by a pleasant walk or no. 30 tram from Zentral. Great activities for all, and excellent exhibitions. The University has lovely grounds. Plenty for children to do. Happy atmosphere when I visited. Obviously a popular place for locals (with/without children). Very appealing. Perfect for a... More

This Museum at the University is free and offers an excellent selection of prehistoric and regional birds, reptiles and animals. You can take the cable car up the hill as the Museum is located on the top of the hill. Fun for the kids, a great view of the City and a worthwhile museum.

It was a short pleasant walk from the train station. There are displays outside of the building. This place is free. Take your time, there is much to see in the 2 small floors. I really liked the mythical creatures among all the many many animals on display. It is hard to deicide where to start. It is all very... More

This museum was located in the University of Zurich. It was free but very well organized and managed. You can find all kinds of taxidermy animals with explanations and their recorded sounds. It was a perfect place for family with kids in Zurich and you can also have a lunch in the university cafetefia.

Great museum showing a wide (literally) range of animals. Has lots of learning stations to engage young children. The best part is the cost - it's free (a miracle in Switzerland).

This excellent museum is located in the vicinity of the ETH University and entrance is FREE of charge. On display, you can see fossils, dinosaur bones, well preserved animals from all around the world and many more. It was a very educational experience and I enjoyed it very much. It is a perfect activity for children, especially on rainy days.... More

I'll agree with the last review that, this is free and therefore well worth your time in a rather expensive city. Measuring the museum relative to other museums, though, it's fairly small in both physical size and collection. I found the palaeontology section most interesting, though some of the taxidermy in the zoological part is hilariously bad. There are extensive... More
