A steep but brief climb from Zurich Altstadt we found this great museum with a good mix of traditional and interactive exhibits which kept 8 and 12 yr old engaged for a couple of hours as well as Mum and Dad. Some stunning fossil exhibits. Handy picnic area and a small gift shop.

Quite small but very serviceable Zoological museum. Exhibits were good, lots of animals, signs were in German (obviously). Hardly any of the fossils had estimated ages on, which was a shame.

we were here with our grandson (10) and had a great and interesting stay: lots to explore, do, see very interesting short films in a cinema room, microscopes etc. And we were not alone: tons of families were there, seems to be an insider's tip for families....

I visited here alone and needed only 30 minutes to walk around and see everything. I didn't go into any exhibitions but I would like to return for one. The museum is clean, well presented, well lit and the cases and quality of the furnishings and equipment is of a good quality. There is a vending machine for drinks including... More

This museum is so well-recognized and it has a lot of valuable fossils through out the Earth history. Great for everyone from all ages to enjoy. And most importantly, it is free to all.

This is a lovely well-curated and free museum at the University of Zurich, easily reached by a pleasant walk or no. 30 tram from Zentral. Great activities for all, and excellent exhibitions. The University has lovely grounds. Plenty for children to do. Happy atmosphere when I visited. Obviously a popular place for locals (with/without children). Very appealing. Perfect for a... More

This Museum at the University is free and offers an excellent selection of prehistoric and regional birds, reptiles and animals. You can take the cable car up the hill as the Museum is located on the top of the hill. Fun for the kids, a great view of the City and a worthwhile museum.

It was a short pleasant walk from the train station. There are displays outside of the building. This place is free. Take your time, there is much to see in the 2 small floors. I really liked the mythical creatures among all the many many animals on display. It is hard to deicide where to start. It is all very... More
