I would say it is lifeline of zurich as it host major banks and shops. Not a place for tourist and it very busy area and offers little to explore...

Found this area very boring and soulless, if you like watching fast cars go round in circles all day and look at banks and overpriced shops this would be for you. if not just jump off the tram and walk down to the lake
the Savoy Bar is always a nice meeting place or the Spruglee café on the corner or the Artillery Beer Hall/ Restaurant, excellent Swiss German Food and Beer
Zurichs heartbeat. All major banks,Financial companies are based at or around the platz. Nothing very interesting otherwise. Convenient place to catch your tram,and just off Banhoffstrasse. A few cafes and shops around.
Wouldn't recommend going out of your way to visit this plaza, but if walking downtown it's not hard to miss. There are a few Swiss banks located in the plaza, but it's nothing remarkable.
I am not sure how this qualifies as a 'to do' thing / attraction as it is just a city centre square with great public transport connections. The big Swiss banks have offices on the square but there is nothing outstanding or particularly beautiful. You'll...More
