Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

First let me begin with the fantastic customer service. I couldn't travel across the ocean to go visit the their workshop and Atelier (It will be on my to do list for sure). Leonard responded quickly to all my inquiries and he provided very beneficial advices. Leonard was very professional and friendly. I felt very confident throughout the process of purchasing my dream watch.

Now lets talk about the watch. WOW. Amazing work. You can tell that every single details is meticulously thought, everything is perfectly balance. The mechanical movement is flawless. I really love that each watch has its own story. The Red Sapphire Crystal is truly giving a soul to the watch.

I’m sincerely happy and grateful to be part of the MDM family. I can only recommend without any hesitation to anyone that desire an awesome friendly and professional customer service that will accompany you during your adventure of finding your dream watch.

Thank you very much Maurice De Mauriac.

At the Atelier of Maurice de Mauriac you find some of the coolest watches. The family owned company is a real treasure in the Zurich shopping scene. I really love the Silverstone Chrono best. Asl for the variation of textile Nato-Straps...

Mr. Daniel Dreifuss the owner of Maurice de Mauriac is such a great personality. I visited his atelier in Zurich recently with my family. Even though it was my first visit to his shop, Daniel greeted my family and I like we have known each other for a very long time. Maurice de Mauriac is not only about a watch brand but far beyond that. The human touch shown by Daniel makes Maurice de Mauriac more than a reputable watch brand. It's more like a "warm relationship" ! Maurice de Mauriac shop is a true watch atelier that one should not miss whenever in Zurich. Surprise yourself !
Thank you and warmest regards from Suhaimi and Family

Maurice de Mauriac watches are insanely amazing. Thanks to Daniel's unique designs. Don't hesitate, walk in their Flagship store, get to know the brand, you won't be disappointed. The store is a very meticulous and curious heaven for precision lovers who embody style and "renaissance".
Bravo Maurice de Mauriac for such enthusiasm.

Just a few minutes walk from Bahnhofstrasse you'll find the only Atelier hand crafting watches in Zurich. Lovely Father and son team always happy to receive visitors and show people their incredible showroom packed with inspirational (often motor racing related) items. No pressure at all to buy a watch (in fact, sometimes you have to try quite hard to be allowed to!), but the products are very sensibly priced and all individually tailored to your preferences. English, French and German all spoken fluently so don't be afraid to drop by and see them.

This is the Atelier of one of the few watch makers in Zurich. The Atelier is very nice and customers get a personal feeling. The watch brand is also a sponsor of the Zurich Ice Hockey Club and the brand is worn by all kinds of famous Swiss people. So there is a slight chance to spot a VIP while visiting the store and having a discussion with the owner or his sons about the Swiss watch industry.

As a watch journalist and having visited dozens and dozens of top watch manufacturers and companies around Switzerland and Germany, I have to say the picturesque Maurice de Mauriac atelier is a must for anyone that visits Zurich. Daniel Dreifuss and his sons and watchmakers are the perfect hosts -- and the place is unique, not only full of memorabilia, icons, miniatures, books, images of Steve McQueen and classic racing cars from the 1960s and 1970s but also all kinds of straps and bracelets. Besides the most important part: watches, of course. The Maurice de Mauriac collection comprises timepieces of various types, from the more sporty chronographs to the elegant ones and the minimalist L1 series by Zurich designer Fabien Schwaerzler. My favourites are the Chronograph Modern Le Mans series, featuring racing stripes and personalized with the client's lucky number on the dial. The scent of horween leather also adds to the ambience. Maurice de Mauriac is a boutique brand that provides products like no other and visiting the atelier is an experience that shouldn't be missed! My suggestion: be prepared to stay for a while, have a coffee and discuss watches with the Dreifuss family while browsing the Maurice de Mauriac range of products -- then leave with a nice timepiece and strap, hehe.

A couple of months ago I re-visited the lovely people at Maurice de Mauriac in downtown Zurich. This time with the firm intention to acquire the iconic Maurice de Mauriac L1 wristwatch. Finally my desired 37mm version in stainless steel with silk matt finish and black face was available! This is a good size for men with moderate wrist circumference and for ladies, of course. This beautiful swiss made horological tool is completely reduced to the minimum. Visually and functionally. It indicates the hour, minute and second plus date with superb accuracy. Over a two months period, the diversion was only two seconds per day. This is more accurate than the requirements for a Swiss watch to pass the official (COSC) chronometer certification! The thing is, this watch was not certified. Which is great. Because it shows the commitment and dedication, the friendly people at MDM put into their product. Aiming always for the best possible quality. Plus it saves you a hefty mark up. The extremely well legible dial in matt black includes a tiny date window at three o'clock. The background of the date disk is also of black colour so as not to distract the symmetry and clean looking face. Time checking is possible at a split second glance, with high accuracy. The luminescence affords instant and easy time readability in the dark. The iconic L1 comes with a saphire crystal glass, either flat or domed, depending on your preference. The see through glass back allows for a glimpse at the beautifully and elaborately finished quality swiss made movement. A completely flat and smooth finished back of the housing is very comfortable on the wrist. The screw down crown is much easier to open and close than on any Rolex I have ever used. Every subtle detail reeks of quality. There are watch straps galore at the MDM store. One can choose from Barena calf skin, Horween shell cordovan to crocodile hide straps in a puzzling array if colours. Or choose some NATO strap (18mm width for the 37mm L1). I have never and nowhere seen a better choice in colours. Unicoloured and striped ones, as well. Do yourself a favour and join the lucky guild of happy MDM watch owners. I hope this was helpfull for you!
