Horrifically busy and venue barely able to cope with such high visitor numbers.
Not enough tables in eating places and massive queues for food that was poor quality yet unbelievably expensive (£6.50 for small, bland sausage roll!).
Couldn’t get into Glasshouse unless prepared to queue...More
Visited Wisley at the weekend knowing that it would be busy as half term, nice weather and Lego exhibition. Yes, it's a bit of a walk from the overflow car parks, took me 20 minutes from cp 5 but only to be expected at a...More
Had to walk from the car parks which are now some distance away and the queues were appalling and we gave up in the end. Would recommend not going this year and wait until building work is completed. Very bad planning to have it over...More
So it’s half term , the sun is out and wisely is local to where we live . Theres a Lego safari and i have two pre school boys who love Lego ! I booked our adult tickets online pre visit. The Lego animals were...More
Normally I would rate this venue higher but today showed up the inadequacy of the facilities, including toilets and the catering. Parking was in car park 5 which entails a long walk to the gardens having queued all along the road that takes you there.....More
Disappointing experience today, and it’s clear from the other reviews this week that Wisley have failed to learn lessons on how to improve the customer experience during half term and the added attraction of the Lego exhibition.
Parking is being poorly managed, there were spaces...More
Very busy but found car park space quickly and not far from the entrance too. No queue as we’re members and walked straight in, also having prebooked a time slot we were able to avoid the massive queue for the Lego Brick Safari. The Lego...More
We always call in to Wisley when driving our grandchildren back to their home, having stayed with us on the Isle of Wight. Yesterday, 20th February, was disappointing, the food hall needs re-organising, by the time we got served with hot food and then waited...More
Visited 20/02/2019. Loads of building work going on so three of the main carparks are out of action. Instead, car parking is in two outlying fields. Car Park 4 (one of the fields) is a 20 min walk back to the main entrance or served...More
Be prepared for long queues both to park and for the Lego brick safari in the glass houses. Such a shame that the Lego is all contained within the glass houses which would be popular anyway. It could have been spread out in a trail...More

I sympathise with you. I have nothing against children, having my own share and a few grandchildren to boot! As others have suggested, I tend to go in term time but have the dilemma of battling with the M25 during weekdays or hordes of kids at the weekend. Try and go early before the little beggars have woken up!
I suggest that you try early in the week and try to avoid the large cafe where parents seem to let their kids run riot on the green at the front of the cafe. Battlefield Hill (?) is lovely to walk through when the rhododendrons are in bloom or even when they are not. You won't find too many children there.
Also, try heading for the Pinetum where there is a nice walk along the river bank. Wisley have recently installed a few benches along the riverside walk and if you're lucky you may spot a free one. The new cafe at the far end of the Pinetum may suit as it seemed to be a bit quieter on the couple of occasions that I have had tea there.
Good luck and if you find another quiet spot apart from my two, let me know ;-)
