Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The first station building was completed in 1865 and demolished in 1894. The second and current station building was designed by Izaak Gosschalk, completed in 1896, and most recently restored in 2000. Train services started in 1866 and are currently provided by Nederlandse Spoorwegen and Arriva. There are 41 bus services at the station provided by Qbuzz.
Since 1961 my parents moved with me from Schiedam to Eelde, a nearby village, so in those days we used the train to visit grandparents near Amersfoort often. In those years the beautiful ceiling in the entrance hall was hidden by a low white simple and cheap one. In the early nineties I guess there was a huge restoration project of the railwaystation. All of this old beauty was revealed again and since then it is a must see in the town Groningen stop ,whenever I have visitors from other places to show them around.

A very easy station to navigate all on one level so great for people with mobility problems. Obviously signage in Dutch but you can work out where you are or need to be...
Tickets can be purchased from machines we had prepaid.. bus station right out side. It's clean. Starbucks on site so somewhere to sit while waiting. Staff we met spoke English and were very happy to help.

This is truly a beautiful station, modern convenience in the classic building. A few convenience stores in the station to grab a sandwich to your next destination.

It took you back to the olden age, with an international atmosphere. You can almost find anything here from all over the world (I am talking mostly about food, of course). Great place to spend your weekend

Absolutely stunning architecture inside the main hall of the train station. The best central train station that I have ever seen. Easy walk into the city from the train station. Beautiful building..
