A quiet place in the center of the city

I come here often. Every time I visit Groningen I have to go to Prinsenhof to see the herbs growing even in wintertime.

I took a small walk in the garden. It was clean, and tidy. Flowers and everytging were really beautiful. Perfect place to leave a bit the city, and take a peaceful walk, or just sit down for relaxing.

Not very big, but a nice 'green' place in the center of the city of Groningen. Nice gardens, actually quite romantic also. May and June may be the best months to visit in terms of nice flowers. You can also have a nice cup of tea there.

Loved visiting, beautiful and peaceful. Take time to sit on one of the benches to take it all in and to meditate for a while.

In fall/winter time the garden is worth a look for 15 to 30 minutes. I expect in spring/summer it will be more interesting.

You could walk right by this beautiful walled garden. We came in winter but would love to come back in summer.

It is a jewel of a garden. Probably the best kept public garden in The Netherlands. Very nice to stroll in and to sit quietly. When you are on 'de Groote Markt' simply follow the small signs in black and brass. They will bring you there via the Martinikerkhof. And that is a beautifull place also.

I went there with a friend and enjoyed the rare sunny day sitting in the garden area, having coffee. I dont think you can really enjoy the garden when it is cold or rainy but you can still try. For the coffee shop, you have to go and order what you want, pay immediately and than go back to your... More

It is just a couple of minutes walking from Martinitoren and busy Market Square. But the atmosphere is already totally different. I went there on a hot sunny day and the garden makes me so peaceful and relax. A true beauty of the city if you are looking for a small place to walk around and run away from crowd.
