We take all of our visitors to this book store. It is hidden inside of a beautiful old church. When you walk inside your amazed by the original architecture that they have not touched. In the middle is the multi level book store. Look up....The ceilings are painted with the original amazing artwork. We go in overtime we are in... More

Step through the big iron doors and prepare to be wowed not only by a great collection of books, but the fact that they are housed in a 13th century deconsecrated church! Look up at the beautiful vaulted ceilings with the remains of medieval paintings on the ceilings. Climb the central stair area to the third floor for a great... More

Very interesting bookstore. Easy access and lots to see inside. The floor still has the tomb markers. Lots of books. Lots of sitting areas with a coffee shop. I had just watched in Canada aprogramon the making of St. Jan's from a church to a bookstore so I was quite excited to stumble across it during our visit.

One of the most interesting bookstores in the world and for us the most enjoyable experience in Maastricht. When you come to the second floor of the bookstore you will get an excellent view within the church and closer look of the frescoes on the ceiling. There are many different sections, topics, books in English, little gifts, CDs, there is... More

In the library you can experience both the mystical experience of a sacred place and the comtemporary architectonic intervention! In addition, the book selection is fabulous!

Beautiful combination of great architecture and bookshelves around. Everyone of us bought something there. For me it is #1 to visit in Maastricht.

I happened upon the bookstore when I was in Maastricht. It was a good find. I didn't find any books to purchase but a cappuccino on a chilly autumn day is always inviting. The inside allows for some great photos since the floors are all open to the center.

I absolutely love this church/library. Not so pricey books, large range of English books so good for internationals well and plenty of small book-nerd type of gifts.

This place is quite unique. It is a book store but inside the Chapel. Overall is nice place and most of the books are in Dutch language. Wondering If they could sell more books in english language especially Children books.
