Raoul does a fantastic job on this running tour; I highly recommend this for all Maastricht’s visitors looking for a personal tour of the city. Don't be put off if you're not an "every day" runner--Raoul catered to our speed and there were many planned stops along the way. Raoul’s route showcased the historical, social and cultural highlights of the city. I felt I was learning and viewing the city as a local, and that enriched my Maastricht experience immensely. I really enjoyed this running tour; instead of haphazardly strolling between landmarks, you are jogging (which enables guilt-free dinner and drinks later in the day!) In addition to well-known sights, this tour takes you to off-the-beaten path landmarks you’d never notice on your own. Raoul was great as a tour guide; he speaks excellent English, is very personable, took multiple pictures of our trio as we ran with his “selfie-stick” and had no problem with our dog tagging along. I can't say enough good things about this tour and our guide. You'll just have to run it for yourself!

Had a great time on this intro into the city. Raoul was easy to contact and tailored the pace and amount of tourism vs straight running to what I was looking for. He knew a lot about the town’s history as well as had some great recommendations for my time in Maastricht. Had a lovely conversation between stopping points too.

Tour ended with a beautiful sunset run across the bridge! Highly recommend !

This was a perfect way to understand the heart of the city's history while exercising the heart of your tourist body. I can't understand why I waited so long to tour a city this way. The 90 minutes were peppered with a terrific array of details on the principal sights of Maastricht. The running wasn't too intense, but we likely ran about 6k and made more than a dozen stops for information. I'd highly recommend Maastricht Running Tours on either a short stopover to comprehend the city or a lengthy stay to get the context of your surroundings.

We booked a private tour just for the two of us at €40. We were not disappointed. This was our first running tour and I've got to say, we have been missing out!

The starting time was very well thought out as it was very quiet and we were able to get around very easily. Our guide's name was Lysianne who was very friendly, easy to understand and great fun. She has pointed out the best places to us, to which we returned later - as this was just a day trip, we would definitely have not known about some of the places/managed to cover quite so much.

My only minor negative point - and this is being super picky- is the pace could have been a little faster. We were asked at the begging of the tour to set the pace so perhaps the more noticeable slower pace was mostly due to the fact that the the weather was not in our favour (see the photo!) and we were getting a little cold by the end. However, saying this, we only realised how cold we were on the last half an hour of the tour - we were very happy that we had a car with full on heating and spare clothes!

I definitely do recommend this tour and this has definitely geared us up to do the running tour rather than anything else in the future!

Slightly belated review, but no less heartfelt. This was a WONDERFUL way to explore Maastricht. We went with our whole family (two adults, two kids aged 10 and 7 and our dog). Raoul was a great tour guide and explained the history and sites of the city to my children in a way that kept them engaged for the entire 6k run. It was a memorable visit!

I visited Maastricht for an International conference with a very tied schedule and a short timeline.

Contacted Raoul with not hoping too much that he would reply, more over arrange the running tour in a very short notice and asking for a late afternoon schedule after the venue.

To my surprise... He was available and he is fantastic! Knows the city with heart n soul, run the business professionally. In short, I had a FUN and Enjoyable run n the complete tour of the beautiful city.

Loved it and surely will do it again. Highly recommend for anyone to contact Raoul when you are in Maastricht.

This was my first running tour and it certainly won’t be my last! Raoul is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also extremely personable. His passion for both running and the city is very evident, and he went out of his way to make sure that I saw everything Maastricht has to offer. I left with a much greater understanding of and appreciation for this beautiful city, so I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting for the first time. Plus, the endorphins don’t hurt!

I organized a running tour at late notice for my husband (who runs) . Raoul was flexible with times which was good for us. I am not a runner but joined the tour. It was a great way to see the city. And with all the stops, I managed to keep up. We started early (6.30am) which helped avoid all the crowds. If we are in Maastricht again we will contact raoul for another longer tour, to include the hills and a run into belgium! Thanks for a great tour!

I loved my running tour of Maastricht! They responded to my inquiry very quickly to setup my tour. There were only a couple days/times listed on their website, but Lysianne worked with my schedule to setup a time. Lysianne was very knowledgeable of the city. I learned much more than I would have touring the city on my own. It was great to combine running with sightseeing. I'm going to look for running tours in town I visit now.
