These two tours, with our guide Justina, brought the political and cultural history of this part of the Netherlands into focus. The tours were both about an hour long and were well organized, and our guide's knowledge of the historical significance of the fort and mines was impressive and delivered clearly with enthusiasm and humour. It's clear she likes her... More

The tour inside these caves was awesome. The artwork, stories and tragic facts told by our funny and cute tour guide Jalena made it awesome. Sort of spoiler here but theres a part of a tour where they ask if you wanna walk part of a tunnel in pitch dark or walk the other way with light. I excitedly said... More

We caught a very cold day but the guide helped keep the hour-long attraction interesting with a mix of historical facts, nice stories and even a little adventure. Totally recommendable! The only downside I can think of is that it may not be that enjoyable in big groups.

We booked a joint tour with the nearby fort from the VVV Toursit Office in the town centre. You need to have a guided tour (you can't just wander round), so the quality of your visit depends of your tour guide. Thankfully ours was excellent. The caves are absolutely massive, you will need to go back multiple times to come... More

It's always fun to learn a little history about the place you are visiting. Maastricht has a lot of history and a visit to the Caves are certainly worth it. A total blackout experience in the caves adds to the excitement. Definitely a must do, also enjoyable for kids.

Fun activity to do, you learn a lot about Maastrichts underground and history. Dress warmly as it is very cold underground.

We enjoyed the caves as unique visit in Maastricht. The English guide, Paul, amazed us with intriguing stories and insightful information. The pitch black experience is memorable! A must do if you are in Maastricht.

We enjoyed a very interesting and funny cave tour in the Maastricht "mergel grotten". Our English speaking Guide, a nice girl from Poland, Justina, was excellent. She made the tour both interesting and funny. Recommend this one hour tour and especially with this guide.

We had Justina as a tour guide - friendly and fun and informative young lady. She spoke very good English and encouraged questions and comments. Most visitors took advantage of the opportunity of walking in the pitch dark, for a short period, but the rest of the walk was with good lanterns and safety is uppermost for the organisation. An...
