We were attended to by a very friendly and helpful member of staff. Walking around in the treasury can take as short or long as one wants, we took our time. There are a lot of interesting relics, some small, some quite big. The variety of what’s on display is striking and the basilica is justly proud of this collection.... More

I really liked the fact that the church was not extremely busy and that there were plenty of places to lite a candle. The basilica itself is well worth a visit but the Virgin Mary Star of the Sea part at the entrance with all the candles is the most impressive part for me

This beautiful Roman church has a rich past in the Maastricht history. The Basilica of Our Lady is possibly the oldest church in Maastricht and a definitely must-see when you visit the town.

This is one of 2 basilicas in Maastricht. I love to visit old cathedrals and this one is beautiful and dates back to the Romans. The day I went the alcove was open but not the church. Maybe because it was Carnival, I don't know. It opens out to the square. The alcove is devoted to our lady and is... More

There was held a cermony for a person who just passed away and that was a new experience for me because I am not christian. There is a place at the first hall where people could light candles and it was really beautiful. Inside, the church was distinctive.

Lots of locals come for Prayers. Small warm chapel. Simple architecture with a main shrine for the Lady

Honest, I was and disappointed and surprised at the same time. First thought...rather small, for the name Basilica. But then the architecture and beautiful features made me bounce back into an enthusiastic feeling... Really very nice!
