Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not the most impressive town hall that you'll come across in Europe, but Maastricht's historic Stadhuis is nevertheless one that you will not miss when visiting Maastricht. This imposing 17th-century Dutch-classicism building still rules the Markt Square where it is located despite juxtaposing with the more modern Mosae Forum shopping centre and surrounded by the open-air twice-a-week marketplace. The town hall was temporarily closed to the public during my visit to Maastricht, but a virtual tour is available via a link to a YouTube video on the 'Visit Maastricht' website. Good for a quick stopover photo opportunity before heading to the more instagrammable Boekhandel Dominicanen bookshop nearby.

It's not a 'wow!' But it's a 'heh, cool!' Kind of looked at it but the more impressive part is the square it is located, the place is full of cafes, pubs, restaurants and little shops. It is it has a nice atmosphere, a busy atmosphere. Nice place to relax and have a casual early evening meander.

The city hall is the center of the old city (not of today’s city which has evolved much further away).
It’s a beautiful building, interesting. It’s also the place where you will find a rather big market.

In the Market square of Maastricht you will see this beautiful building of the City Hall. It has a lot of history to it, so if you are on a guided tour you will learn a lot about this building. It is also equally interesting for those into architecture and arts - being built in the Renaissance period it has a lot of interesting decorations on its facades.
If you are looking it up on the www you can have a chance on booking a visit inside - don't know exactly what periods or days but with a little planing and a hint of luck you can go inside too.
Overall it is a must see when you are in Maastricht and since you are in the city center you can definitely include it in your tour of the city.

The Town Hall is pretty impressive and centres on a large square. Square, grey limestone built in 1664 and used to be open to visitors but we saw no such signs.

In a city where you are spoilt by the sheer number of beautiful buildings, this is not one of the most impressive. Nice enough.

One of our conference formal evenings was here at the City Hall of Maastricht and the mayor was kind and generous enough to welcome and address all the delegates over drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Beautiful main hall and interiors.
