    Fairytales and Coasters
As lovers of UK Theme parks we were keen to give Efteling a go. The many reviews we read were all positive for this family park, with many saying they loved the atmosphere. Choosing to split our visit over two days we arrived on a wintery weekday, late morning, ready to fit in as much in as possible while the weather was dry. From the grand entrance to the welcoming staff, you feel transported to a world of make believe. We headed first to Python and Baron 1898 and enjoyed adding both to our coaster list! The park is a fair size so to get our bearings, we jumped on the train and took a trip around the different areas to plan our afternoon. Even during the quiet winter weekdays there were plenty of places to stop and grab a drink and treats. One of the biggest surprises was deciding to ‘nip through’ the Fairytale Forest only to emerge 90 mins later! The scenes were so detailed and plenty to look at wondering this whimsical little trail. Sadly the weather wasn't quite so kind as the day went on so we gave the light show a miss at the end of the evening. Armed with a plan we headed back in for day two, fitting in the many attractions we missed the day before. Without sharing to much, the dark rides were fab, there really is something for everyone at this park. It was so clean (helped Im sure by the fact everyone wants to feed their rubbish to the talking bins) plenty of places to sit and enjoy picnics in the sun and undercover in the rain and lots of facilities dotted about. One thing we really liked was the little museum with plenty of old props and drawings telling the history of the park. We loved this park and there was so much we wanted to go back to but just run out of time. We were aware of the closed rides but enjoyed the couple of days so much, even with those main attractions closed for maintenance. We will be back soon! Oh don't forget to visit Volk van Laaf, home of adorable little folk.
Wow! You really made the most of your visits to the Efteling! How nice to read that these days have been so fairytale-like for you. We hope to welcome you back to the World of Wonders in the near future, so you can enjoy all the beauty the Efteling has to offer and maybe visit the attractions that were closed for maintenance. ✨🍄 ^Patty

    Top amusement park.
For us, the Efteling remains number one!! Suitable for young and old and unfortunately much too big for a one-day visit. We are working hard on new attractions and a new hotel. Unfortunately, there is often a lot of crowds.
^ Paris🍄✨

Magical Place for anyone and everyone!
This place is absolutely magical! The child stories from the Dutch and European culture was so fun and enlightening. I was amazed the entire time. Highly recommend anyone to go who has the chance to visit The Netherlands.
Thank you for your review. We hope to welcome you again at our park. 🍄 ^Jamie

    Winter Efteling
On Friday January 12, 2024 we visited the Winterefteling. We had a great day. There were a number of attractions closed for maintenance, but more than enough were open. It was very quiet so we hardly had to wait anywhere. Everything was still beautifully decorated in a wintery atmosphere. The ice rink with the stalls next to it was also very nice. At the end of the day we saw the beautiful water and light show. Top.
Wat leuk om te lezen dat je zo'n betoverende dag gehad hebt in de Winter Efteling! In de lente en zomer is de Efteling ook prachtig, wellicht een tip voor later dit jaar! 🍄 ^Patty

    Magical Efteling
Efteling is magical. Staff are so unbelievably nice and pleasant and the whole experience we just had woth pur family was well worth the trip from Dublin. Transport is easy and reliable and we stayed in a hotel on the site of the theme park itself which was fabulous too. Thank you for a memorable stay. The staff should be very proud of hoe they conduct themselves..
    Thank you! 🍄

Remains fun despite the many tasks
Efteling, who hasn't been there....We went on holiday on a Monday. Queues were and just not, 10 minutes maximum. Very easy to do with 2 small children. Maybe quieter because the Python, George and the Dragon, Flying Dutchman and the Piranha are closed? But it's of no use to our small children anyway. Had a very nice day with 2 downsides.... While we are used to the staff being generally very friendly, we still had 2 moments where that was not the case. At Max and Moritz's, our children were measured for a band by a boy/man who probably still had morning sickness. Remember that some children are riding a roller coaster for the first time. Make this magical! Halfway through the day, Pardoes was standing at Polle's kitchen. We thought we'd take a photo. There were only 3 children still in line, including 2 of us. No, Pardoes only does a high five because he is tired. It's fine if Pardoes is only allowed to stand for 15 minutes, but then report it. Now you can join in and be happy with a High Five. I understand, but those disappointed faces are not nice. We will come back when the new hotel is ready. A bit more magical without those construction fences, although we have not experienced this as an unpleasant experience.

    Magnificent park
Magnificent park 🤗🤗 Very beautiful and very clean. The staff is particularly pleasant 👍 Very short queues in March. We were able to do our favorite attractions several times during the day. Maximum waiting time: 15 minutes (but often 5 minutes😝) A real pleasure! Attractions for all ages and great thrilling roller coasters. The catering is very varied, very good and affordable. A wonderful day
    Merci! 🍄

    Magic
Wonderful day, also for our granddaughter! Magical, over and over again. It's just a shame that the green parts are slowly being completely built up. The kitchen in Witte Paard can also be run much more efficiently. Everything runs like a well-oiled machine in the park, but there you get cold, hot dishes and a long wait for your fries. Now for the third time in a row...

An immersive park that rivals DIsney.
Beautiful park that is up there with Disney in some areas. We visited out of season in March 2024 and as this is a year round park a few rides were down for maintenance, which is understandable but still a little disappointing. Also the front of the park was undergoing major construction (car park/new hotel) which looked a little unsightly. The park is huge and ideally you should set aside at least 2 days. However as it was pretty quiet and some rides were down we got to see most of it and get a couple of re-rides in too. The food was your usual theme park fare however we were a little disappointed with the pancake restaurant as we had heard great things. The majority of the staff were lovely but there were a couple that had a bit of an attitude problem. Overall its an incredibly immersive park with some very unique attractions and hopefully one day we'll get back to do the stuff we missed out on this time around.
Thank you for your comprehensive review James! We are delighted to hear that you had an enjoyable stay. It is indeed true that the Efteling is open 365 days a year and therefore unfortunately some of our maintenance has to be done during park opening hours. We will take your feedback internally for evaluation. Hopefully we will be able to welcome you back to the Efteling soon!

Unforgettable Theme park with consistent style
This themepark started in the sixties around images of fairy tales, now it has attractions for all ages. Remarkable is the efficient organisation with hundreds of staff taking care of the wellbeing of visitors and the consistency in the styling of every detail. The original designer/architect Anton Pieck left his mark to date. We spent three full days here and some kids had to cry when leaving was unevitable.
How wonderful that your visit was so magical! We hope to welcome you back to the World of Wonders soon. ✨

I had a 3 night stay in December with my husband and 17 month old daughter. We flew to Amsterdam and stayed in the centre for 1 night, from there we got the train aprox 1.5 hours and a direct bus from the train station to Efteling. Transport was really easy I downloaded the NS app this has the exact time and route to make everything much smoother. On arrival at Efteling we were shown to the lockers (if you are staying over they are free of charge!!) all of the staff are really friendly and very helpful. The food was reasonably priced and throughout the park there was a large variety of different snacks and restaurants. I was not expecting to be able to enjoy most of the rides as we took our daughter however I was very pleasantly surprised to find that we were allowed on most of the children’s rides, the waiting time for rides was short and we were able to ride all of the adult rides as a single rider. We stayed at Loonschland and it was just stunning, immaculate and the restaurant is incredible it has a small play area for when the children are waiting to eat, a short walk from the hotel is an animal enclosure and mini parks for the children to play before or after visiting the park. On arrival back to the UK we went to Alton Towers CBeebies land and we were very disappointed to find our daughter was not tall enough for any of the rides. We also thought that we may get bored with having 4 full days in the park however each day we seen something new to explore. All of the shows where in Dutch but you always knew what was happening and after we had a chance to speak with the actors/ actresses which was a lovely touch.. every staff member also spoken English! I have also been to Disney Land Paris and had to pay to have breakfast with the characters, in Efteling the characters do come around and speak to you whilst you are eating again this is free of charge and a lovely gesture for the children. If I haven’t convinced you already you must put Efteling on your bucket list as you will not be disappointed.. we can’t wait to come back next year!!!

We've been to this theme park many times in the past and have enjoyed going, especially with our children. A variety of attractions for every age makes this park a good outing for families with children of various ages.

What is also good about this theme park is that it is open year round with differing themes: spring, summer, autumn and winter. As the temperatures dip, fewer attractions are open (the water-based ones are closed for the season), but there are many indoor attractions to keep young and old occupied.

Truly a magical experience. I took my (almost) 8 year old here and we arrived at 9:30 (half an hour before opening).

If you're coming on a weekend or holiday,
I highly recommend you come early and skip past the small stuff and head straight to roller coasters (if that's your thing). In general, queues last around 30-40 minutes so its not so bad.

Food is affordable and not horrible, but you can also bring your own food and more importantly your own water.

Another tip, download the app so you can plan your route, get all you attraction photos digitally and know the waiting times for each ride.

Come with an appetite for fun. You won't be disappointed.

First of all, we came early to find ourselves directed to the parking the farest away from the entrance whilst the parkings in front were completely empty.
The saddest part is that, electric vehicles are allowed to park closer to the entrance than people with a disability! Shame on you efteling.
The covid restrictions are a joke for safety but allow to create ridiculous waiting lines. Most attractions are filled for 50% at best. There is little to no disinfectant available and the social distancing is not enforced. Even getting a coffee takes 30 minutes.
Toverland is 30% cheaper, and does a way better job. This park is just there to get your money.

Efteling is imposing vouchers valid until June 2021 rather than processing refunds even when requested by customers. As a father of a disabled child it is not possible to plan in advance holidays into next year and a refund would have been the best option for me but I have been refused outright. I find this position to be counter to the advice given within the EU from holiday companies. I have set up a FB group for Efteling Holiday cancellations as there’s more power in greater numbers as I’m sure there are other customers who have been refused refunds who cannot guarantee they’ll be in a position to rebook again within the next year.
I’ve never visited Efteling before and on this service basis I don’t think I ever will!

I honestly can't rave about this place enough, it was incredible!

We visited in August as a family of four (kids aged 10 and 6). The weather was wet but it didn't stop us having a great time (we bought the park ponchos as they were warmer than the ones I had brought from Ebay).

The park is spotlessly clean, has a wide choice of decent food (healthy and junk) plenty of toilets and there is a huge choice of rides for all ages. We went over three days which worked well for us because of the weather and also my six year old struggled to do much more than 6 hours a day).
Downloading the app is a must to show queue times and location as the park is so vast.
We stayed at Loonsche Land and got the shuttle bus in most days but it was only a 10 minute walk and staying there gave us priority access to the park between 930 and 10.
We also loved the Caro show (staying at Loonsche Land meant our tickets were discounted).
The park has a mixture of thrill rides and magical rides which are so detailed even the adults will be wowed.
This is the best theme park I have ever been too and I can't rate it highly enough.

What a wonderful place to visit. We stayed in the loonsche land, in a tree house. Upon arrival, we were delighted to see a cute little cabin surrounded by woods, upon entering it was a spacious, underfloor heated, big space with everything we needed for our stay. All bedding and towels included. The kids loved it. There is a food shop onsite with a minimal selection but a 10 minute drive too you to a supermarket where you could get everything you need.
From outside the hotel, (if you didnt stay in a cabin)a regular train took you to the park every day and returned. The 15 min walk (if you didnt take train) was through a woodland. The park was fabulous I have to say. The fairytale land was the old fashioned none commercialised original story place that was amazing to walk around. It took over 2 hours to walk around and see all the quaint cottages and figures. The rides throughout the park were suitable for all ages and despite some short queues were well worth it. The weather was not good but didnt stop us having a great time. The last night we were lucky enough to experience the most fabulous water light show, a spectacular show that lasted around 15 mins. So good that despite the rain we would not leave til end. A great selection of food stalls reasonably priced, characters walking around, friendly staff, amazing chocomel hot choc to warm up, shows, wood fire pits, Christmas decorations, fresh pizzas/pastas delivered to your door, disabled friendly, what more could you ask for to make a magical start to Christmas!! Would 100% return.

This was our first trip here and it definitely won’t be our last. From start to finish we were so impressed. The park is huge so even on very busy days doesn’t feel overwhelming. The queue control system is very well managed and on our last day ( the busiest) we still weren’t waiting stupid times. The option of child swap and single rider also makes it more efficient. The app is great, you can plan your route based on wait times, it’s really useful knowing which rides will be under maintenance as well. The rides themselves are so well designed that you feel like they are actually immersing you and telling the story, loads of attention to detail and some unexpected surprises in some of them. The variety was great and even though the park is really well suited to younger children there is also a good selection for those who prefer more thrilling rides. There is always seating and food available, never long queues and in some places you can pre order food and collect when it’s ready. We found prices to be fair, we never felt that we paid over the odds for anything.
The additional shows are also a fantastic extra to partake in if you’re staying, we thoroughly enjoyed Caro.
We stayed at Bosrijk and it was great. Clean, comfortable, food at breakfast was tasty, my son loved having access to the pool. On our first night we ordered pizza to the room as we were tired after travelling and spending the day at the park, it arrived bang on time and was delicious.
All the staff we encountered during our stay were lovely.
We described this place as a mixture of Alton towers, Disney and a German Market. I’ve not taken my son to Disney but i think if you’re expecting Disney you will find it’s different, it is not as commercial, however theme parks in Britain are not a patch on this place, it is so well managed and you can tell that their guests experience come before profit. my son enjoyed it so much he was walking around asking if it was real, I can’t wait to book another trip.

Wonderful day out as park suited both younger children as well as teens. We went at UK October half term and the weather was torrential rain until the Thursday. This must have put people off, as although it was dry all day, the park was quiet. We waiting about 5-10 minutes for most rides including the big coasters which we went on a couple of times (each one).

Plenty of staff around and rides were well managed and controlled.

Many of the rides are hidden inside buildings so you don’t know what you are getting, until you step inside. A lovely mix of ideas, such as a boat ride, which turns into a roller coaster and ends up back in the water. Great fun!

We had a lovely lunch at a large cafeteria near the grand station. As well as the usual ( junk) food, hot dogs and chips etc, they served a selection of homemade soups, salads and baguettes which is great for the mums!

Plenty of room and lush gardens, a spacious feel to the park which is clearly well run, and set up for enormous numbers. Worth going on a quiet day for sure, as for me, crowds and queues would ruin it - but not always possible.

They are building a new hotel there which may be interesting for future trips.

The entrance fee for us was 45 euro per person, which I thought was reasonable compared to other places.

Worth researching for sure!

What a beautiful park! We love theme parks and regularly visit the merlin parks in uk. Also been lucky enough to visit Disney world and Disneyland Paris and Efteling is our favourite by far! Visited with a theme park crazy 9 year old and a hard to impress 12 year and we all loved it! Stayed 2 night 3 days which felt a really good time. Able to do everything we wanted but not feel rushed. A few really good thrill rides, lots of beautiful dark rides and plenty of small rides to scatter in between. The grounds are gorgeous which felt extra special with the autumn colours and glorious weather we were blessed with at the end of October. This place definitely has that special magical Disney feeling without the crazy price tag. It was busy season but never felt overcrowded and by using the ride times on the app we didnt wait more than 30 minutes for anything. We personally found the food and drink prices very reasonable for a theme park and even with the poor pound exchange rate we were pleasantly surprised. Everything we had was fresh and tasty and there is loads of choice. Make sure to spend a hour or two exploring the fairytale forest and appreciate the details and theming. Can’t recommend here enough. Stay in the hotels onsite as these are so beautiful. I’m sure we will return
