Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Is it the most exciting place in the world? No, however it is absolutely beautiful. Look at the houses and the tulip fields in the area. It would best seen best on a bike, but driving slowly through the scenery to take pictures is pretty good too. I enjoyed it.

We visited mainly the small town of Mittelbeemen. There are some museums around, but a mere walk around will do - everything aroud is really cute and picturesque. We were really amazed by the fact that almost every house around had its own bridge and beautiful imposing gate. It is a great break from the crowds in Amsterdam and if you're looking for large green fields and peace, do give it a try. And also, don't miss another UNESCO site nearby - some of the forts of the Amsterdam defence line.

This is probably a must only for those who like me want to see every UNESCO World Heritage site they can. Nice little village of Middenbeemster offers a couple of small museums (which are not open daily), a church, and a few pleasant alleys to walk through.

The Beemster Polder has been a World Heritage site since 1999. Dating from the early 17th century, is an exceptional example of reclaimed land in the Netherlands. This 17th century polder was created to tame the dangerous inland waters of de Beemster and turn them into fertile and profitable agricultural land. Beemster is nice area to visit, not many tourists, open fields with windmills, small villages with beautiful old town hall etc.

Interesting neighborhood of houses and farms from a particular area. Some used to be owned by wealthy folks and have been converted to other uses. Lot of unique house styles and a lovely area to go through.

Driving around in this region tells a lot how people fight against the water. Straight streets and canals. Nice scenery.

Sure the scenery is nice but for a World Heritage Site it is oddly neglected. The information center does its best, but I missed the no-existing museum of how to make a polder and a piece of historic aspects on the site, preferably built in one of the strange pyramid house which appears in the area. The place seems to cater towards bicyclist in search of nature. I don’t think that’s the reason for the World Heritage title.
